Not in the sense that we create faith. No, faith is a gift. Faith is an interaction between us and God. Faith moves mountains, the scriptures say. Does that mean WE move the mountains, absolutely not! We know that’s the hand of God.
But in order for faith to start, we must make the choice. The choice to go to God. The choice to start trusting beyond what we can see. Believing in God and Jesus isn’t enough for faith. Faith happens the moment we struggle. Do we go to God or do we stay in doubt and fear?
(NKJ) Romans 10:08, “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach).”
When we confess our sins and give our life over to Christ, we aren’t alone. The temple of the Holy Spirit resides in us. When we read scriptures and memorize them in our heart, we are equipping the armor of God.
You see, when we reach out to God, He is already reaching out towards us.
We just need to make that first step forward.
