Midweek Inspiration | I Regret Nothing

(When I started writing this…it was meant to be one thing. And then I started seeing Jesus speaking to me, so I opened my heart. I suppose this could be (my) midweek inspiration. I hope it speaks to you, too.)

He was there for everything.

When I flew high

He heard my cry.

Rushed to me on eagle’s wings.

He never questioned

where’d I go.

Just a smile.

Like He already knows.

Help me, Lord

Cause I can’t see.

Is there a possibility

…that You could see for me?

He takes my hand.

I see the scars on His wrist.

He said, “I’ve waited,”

“for a moment like this.”

Sounds of rushing waters

echo in my ears.

“Why ask what you know,

don’t look in the mirror.”

“Child, I am with you.

I’ve always been.

Ask for what you can’t see

and I’ll guide you within.”

“Lord, they don’t listen.

They don’t obey.

Who am I to tell

them that’s not okay?”

“I’m flawed and I stumble.

People misunderstand.

I’m a writer but the pen

feels faulty in my hand.”

“Words come out

but people see my age.

They’re prepared with defense.

I’m certainly no sage.”

“Stop,” He holds up His hand.

“When you were 13,

You didn’t ask for

a teacher of man.”

“So what if you’re misunderstood?

So what if some lines are crossed?

I’ve been there and back

and I’ve seen your loss.”

“But I’ve seen hearts stirred.

I’ve seen emotions rise.

Child, My teaching to you

Is not an easy ride.”

“You love Me, don’t you?

You love me more than them.

And because of your love for Me,

I’ll show you how to love them.”

“You may not be accepted.

No matter how hard you try.

People may have hurt feelings.

But don’t believe their lies.”

“Do not be discouraged.

Dry your eyes.

What I see, you will see,

and it will be no surprise.”

Still clutching my hand, He smiled.

“My followers fell away.

My hometown didn’t want Me.

Nor did church accept what I had to say.”

“My love was misunderstood, too.

And I’ll tell you something.

The branches killed the True Vine.

But I regret nothing.”

Thank you, Lord. For helping me write and guiding me when I struggle to understand.

Month Scripture (NIV) Hebrews 12:07 & 11, “Endure hardship as discipline. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

  2. Wonderful T.R. You bring your emoticons out where we all can feel them. I often feel the same way when I’m writing – flawed and misunderstood. But, like you, God continues to give me the words. I give Him glory!

    Be blessed

  4. God called many people in the Bible to speak for him and most of them were amazed and said they were perhaps too young or not qualified. The Bible says God chooses what is weak in this world to shame the strong. I thank God for what he is doing through you.
