I don’t know why
my mind’s foggy.
Hormones out of wack
or a form of attack.
Lord, burdens
weigh heavy.
Thoughts rushing
feels hazy.
Insomnia beckons
stopping my sleep.
Emotions threaten
tears to weep.
Yet, You remain.
Always bold and strong.
Your warmth radiates.
In You no wrong.
So, Lord today
I stretch out my hands.
I seek Your assurance.
I know You understand.
I don’t know everything.
Control escapes my fingertips.
But I know You hear my heart
and the prayer on my lips.
Whether pain or praise,
You are still right here.
By Your wing, I’ll abide
and I no longer fear.
Some days are good, but others aren’t. These are the moments to draw close to the Lord ❤

I can identify with the insomnia part for sure. I used to have it really bad, and still rarely sleep hard or sleep the night through. But God is in control, and there has to be a reason. I always enjoy your poems ☺

Amen! I’m so glad you enjoyed this and the other poems 🙂 that makes me happy! I didn’t get any sleep the night before, I just decided to stay up, and then wait till about 9 pm to fall asleep from being tired. I stayed up for about 30 hours, but then around 8:40pm completely fell asleep. I still woke up maybe three or four times, but I really got rest, and I’m thankful for it. 🙂

Love the poem! ❤
"Insomnia beckons stopping my sleep…" <– Reading this at 5:12 AM, and really identifying with it right now. 😆 (I didn't get to sleep yesterday until 7AM, and I've been having a hard time staying asleep too.) 30 hours is a long time – I've stayed up that long before. I know that's not fun. I'll be praying for you! ❤

Yes 🙂 I’m so glad you liked it. When I wrote it, I didn’t get sleep that night. I went about 30 hours before finally falling asleep the next night around 8:30pm.

Aww, I'm sorry and I know what that's like. Wow. Glad you finally got sleep though. 🙂

🙂 it’s ok. I prefer falling asleep naturally because I’m tired versus trying to force myself.

Same here! 😊 I’ve had a few… interesting experiences with trying to force myself. It was not fun.

I like this poem. As we reach out to seek the Lord, He gives us the assurance of His Presence and that He will bring us through.
