It has been a while since I have been able to do this series…a little over a month, in fact! Wow! In a way, it’s helped the series last a little bit longer, but all things must come to an end, this series being one of them. We covered the letter “U” last time and here are the words and scriptures you came up with. 🙂
Heather Davis shared, “Unbound, because in Christ we are set free from slavery to sin.”
Mia shared, “Unconditional/Unfailing: God’s love is unfailing and unconditional. His love for us is not based on works or diminished by anything we’ve done or increased by anything we can/will do!”
God’s Warrior shared, “For me, the word that I want to describe my relationship with God is UPHOLD. This comes from me wanting to be able to uphold the words of Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection and make them the cornerstone of my life.”
Efua shared, “Union was what came to my mind immediately I saw the topic. I’ve been thinking of how marriage reflects our union with Christ. And the Holy Spirit has been teaching me a lot on this.”
Sue Love shared, “There are many scriptures which talk about what must happen or what we must be doing UNTIL the Lord comes.” What came to mind is the song “Until Then.” Until then, my heart will go on singing…”
Other words were, unequaled, unashamed, unrelenting, useful, unspeakable, and universal.
The following scriptures were shared 🙂
1 Co. 11:26, “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
Psalm 119:116, “Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.”
2 Corinthians 6:14, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness??”
John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:16-17, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. ¹⁷God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
Philippians 3:13-14, “I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
Romans 6:17-18, “But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.”
Isaiah 61:01,”The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
1 Peter 1:08, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.”
2 Corinthians 9:15, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”
Well done, everyone! I love how this truly has become a devotional 🙂
This Week’s Letter is V
Vision – State of being able to see
God teaches us about faith. Through Him, we can trust in the unseen. We see things at work that others who do not know Him can’t see.
Vulnerable – Susceptible to a physical or emotional attack. Defenseless, powerless, and weak.
With Jesus, we can be completely vulnerable and He won’t take advantage of us or mock us. He loves us entirely as we are.
(NIV) 2 Corinthians 12:10, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
What are some V words you can come up with that relate to having a relationship with Jesus Christ or describe Him?
Remember to also give me words for the letters X, Y, and Z as they will all be in one post. We are almost done!! 🙂
Month Scripture (NIV) John 13:07, “Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

VICTORY!—Romans 8:37 (NLT)
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Varieties – God loves variety; you can see it in creation, and you can see it in the variety of personalities and giftings in the church.
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.”
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 NASB
W for wonderful – His name is wonderful, Jesus, my Lord. “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 NASB
X – expectation & exalted
“…Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.” Philippians 1:18b-20 NASB

Valuable – Matthew 10:29-31
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

As I am in Joshua on my blog, the first word to come to mind is “Victory”. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1John 5:4,5.
