He Is Willing | Dear T. R. & Testimony (2)

Dear T. R.,

It’s been not that long ago I wrote to you. But I just received news of how Jesus Christ has been protecting you. When you shared the story with me my heart just filled with joy for the Lord.

Of all times for the Lord to place in your heart to read Ch. 5 of Luke, and have this scripture again speak to you.

(NIV) Luke 5:12-13, ” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.”

I know you’ve shared before how in 2014 of the Lord’s power with fixing technology. Shortly after receiving news of your husband getting news to spend a year in South Korea, the one night you were really sick in pain. You tried to place a cup of water on a stand…it slipped and the water spilled all over your computer.

Of course, tech told you it was worthless. Water stained screen and all. They didn’t care whether or not you could afford a new computer.

You did tilt it and put it in with rice, but still…you heard the sizzling and saw the frozen computer when it happened. You too thought it had gone.

But you trusted the Lord. You let go of your attachment to the computer. Your husband had an older one you could use…and you continued, at that time, working on novel two. Four months later when your husband asked you to try your laptop before seeing if you needed another one, you once again gave it to the Lord.

…And the laptop worked.  Despite how damaged it looked on the outside when the water first spilled, everything worked on the computer. No files lost. No damage to the screen.

So when the recent incident happened with your current book, I’m so glad to hear you were strengthened in the Lord. Trusting Him, and asking if He was willing, then He could fix a broken flash drive. Even if it seemed impossible, you joke after all, Impossible is the Lord’s middle name.

Yes, you probably should have had multiple saves of the file of your book.

But…it would not have made such an awesome testimony.

To have a husband who knows how to solder and try to connect the broken pieces, that’s a blessing, and even he admitted he didn’t know if he could do it.

What stood out about this experience, regarding your heart, is when you shared your willingness through tears to say, “Lord, even if You aren’t willing, I know You will still provide in other ways. But if You are willing, then I know it will be done.”

I know letting go of wanting to have what was already prepared isn’t easy. You’ve shared you struggle with control. But know this. You gave control over to the Lord, and you trusted Him no matter what.

That is what He desires, and I believe you made His heart glad.

He was indeed willing to help your husband save the files so you could retrieve them. He was willing! When Christ tells us to ask, seek, and knock never forget how in many things He is willing, but we must seek Him!

In the moments of not knowing, you knew His truth remained. Despite the number of times, this book has lost paragraphs, pages, and potential chapters…I think it shows that much how darkness does not want this to come to the light.

Keep praising the Lord despite the setbacks. This is for His glory! Keep writing. He is at work. He is being glorified and praised, and He WILL continue to be glorified and praised.

I think these moments are the stepping stones of faith. To trust Christ no matter the result.

He is giving you these lessons in life for a reason. Do not lose heart. Do not let bitterness grow. If the Lord allows, praise Him, and when He does not answer continue to praise Him.

But the times He is kind to give you what you want, remember His goodness because in the bad times His goodness remains the same. Always at work for His purpose.

I can’t wait to hear what He does next in your life.

    1. 🙂 thank you! I was so worried they might come off as “egoistic,” but that’s been the opposite reaction from people. In fact, God revealed to me today that the moment of prayer I shared with people was my moment of weakness which Paul says we can boast about for the power of Christ to rest upon us. Maybe I was having whispers of doubt. I plan to write a post, eventually, on how Satan and darkness will try to mimic God and Christ. There’s even scripture that both refers to the Lord as a lion, but also scripture that talks about how Satan is like a lion prowling. Even then, Satan will not win, and he will not replace or be better than the Lord. Praise God! ❤

  1. Again, what you wrote brought me to tears, though not as profusely as last time. 🙂

I am not a novel writer, so I don’t identify that way, but my computer has been having issues and I have been praying over it, too, but I don’t think that part touched me as much as what followed next.

It was just the whole thing of trusting God and believing him for answered prayer in the good times and in the bad, when you can see answers and when you can’t. It ministered to my heart where I am right now. So, thank you.

    1. I was thinking of you, Sue, as I wrote this, and I hoped the story would touch your heart. It seems you have a heaviness or that’s the feeling I get that needs lifted and encouraged right now. I know you know, but I’m going to say it regardless ❤ He is with you, always! 🙂 You are protected under His wings, and nothing can ever touch you no matter what whispers may tempt with doubt.

  2. What a great testimony of God’s goodness and His working! And encouragement to trust and praise Him, no matter what. That’s easier said than done, but definitely good advice.
Yes, keep writing! Don’t let the devil win! 😉 (I’m telling myself that as much as you)

  3. I have this scripture still on my desktop, and I just read it again, and was encouraged by it again:

(NIV) John 13:07, “Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

    1. Haha, no you’re not! 🙂 I was afraid of doing this because I had this whisper of doubt that writing this would make me sound “egotistic” or something. But then God reminded me I was sharing my weakness, and we can boast in our weakness. Ever since then, I feel like this series will do some good. A lot of people have related to it in ways I didn’t think they would. I’m grateful. 🙂
