Midweek Inspiration | Child Of The Wind

Gentle like a refreshing breeze

or strong enough to break trees

I am a child

of the wind.

 

I rage through a storm.

I cry gently.

Sometimes, Lord, I’m so confused.

A child of the wind.

 

The same one You formed.

Yet, I barely am able

to grasp Your hand.

A child of the wind.

 

“Calm down,” You say.

A stillness comforts my soul.

“I formed you, yes.

But I am not the wind.”

 

Tears stop falling.

As I look for Him.

“You seek Me on your grounds,

where I am not found.”

 

“Where do I go,” I ask.

He smiles.

“Stay still, child.”

And listen.”

 

I sought Him where I have wondered,

and couldn’t find Him.

So I stayed still,

and listened.

 

It was not in the wind,

but I heard faintly.

A voice growing.

“I AM.”

 

He came in the whisper.

(Psalm 46:10 & 1 Kings 19:12)
