Welcome back!
Pt. 1 dealt with The Problem. Basically, we have joy in the Lord during the easy times, and we are starting to form a connection with Him. But when trouble and trials start we have no roots in Him, and that’s the problem. We see this with the parable of the seeds.
(NIV) Matthew 13:-5-06, “Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.”
We all need the right foundation in Jesus Christ, which is why I have posts explaining we can’t get this connection in the foundation of the church alone. It must be formed from a bond with Jesus Christ.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN CHURCH IS NOT IMPORTANT BUT TO KNOW THE CHURCH IS THE BODY AND BRANCHES! WE NEED ROOTS FROM THE TRUE VINE!
If the main problem with New Believer Syndrome is us, then the solution is pretty simple.
It’s Christ. Our focus must be on Him, not on us or the cares of this world.
(NIV) John 12:26, “Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me.”
(NIV) Matthew 10:38, “Whoever does not take up their cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.”
To become like Christ means we need to spend time with Him. We need to follow His example and walk on the roads He has set before us.
Community is absolutely important, I want to say this again, but as you can see our walk with Him is very individual. We can’t help further the community, the body, our church if we are not right with Him.
We must be willing first, and no one can make us.
We must be ready to receive, and that means we must be prepared.
We do not need all the tools, devotionals, every study Bible and all CDs of Christian music. These are nice, but more importantly, we need to be on our knees to our Holy and Righteous God. We need to be reading His word, meditating on it, and lifting our hands to Him.
It’s that simple.
Water yourselves in His light. Nourish yourselves in His word.
(NIV) Matthew 4:04, “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
Do not wait for Sunday service to draw close to Him.
Do not wait for someone else to give you the opportunity to get close to Him.
Do not put hope in “there’s always time for later.”
Tomorrow is not a promise.
We break the New Believer Syndrome when His word is not new to us. When His love is familiar. When we are not being served by everyone else and their mother, and we start serving others.
When our fruit is being reaped not only from the harvest, but the laborers are benefiting from it as well.
Have roots so grounded in Him, nothing will shake you.
He is ready and willing, are you?
How is God calling you?
Month Scripture (MSG) Galatians 6:9-10, “So lets not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.”

“we need to be on our knees to our Holy and Righteous God.We need to be reading His word, meditating on it, and lifting our hands to Him.” Love this! It is so true and so necessary.
It’s up to us as mature believers to disciple the new believers about these things. Jesus told us to make disciples of all men. I can so better on this!
Be blessed

Outstanding, dear TR! This describes mature faith. We need to move on to the “meat” of the Word and not just enjoy the “milk” if we are to move beyond our babyhood. Such an important post. ❤ ❤

Yes, absolutely!!! There were so many times I almost put in meat and milk in this because it’s one of my favorite scriptures. I’m so glad you added this 🙂 Thanks, Lynn!! God be with you!

Thanks for this great post……….and thank you for finally saying something that everyone else doesn’t want to: that the church IS NOT the most important part of the Christian walk! CHRIST is the most important part! Yes, church is very essential, but we have to remember that Christ is at the center of it, not the people! ❤ ❤

I’ve written multiple posts on church and many of them tend to stir people up, which is okay because it causes a great discussion, but it took me a while for God to help me see that. I don’t want to purposefully make anyone ever feel defensive, but I want people to understand though gathering together be it with Christian friends, a group, or at church, the church body cannot replace what we must do on our own with Jesus. In fact, when we go to Christ first, He helps us help the church body and grow with each other. 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed this, Penny! Thanks for your encouragement!

Amen! It’s all about Christ, not us and not the church. From that strong foundation tapped into Christ through His Word and prayer, all else will grow.

When we pour out to others, it allows room for God to keep filling us up. Thank you for writing this post. If you are ever looking to guest post, please visit our page: https://dailyps.com/write-for-dailyps/
