Light Of The World Blogger Award

I’ve been nominated by Joe of Light House Devotion for the Light Of The World Award. Thank you so much, Joe, for this award! His blog is all about being a beacon of light to others as we are instructed to do from Jesus. Please take the time to check out his blog.

Purpose Of Light Of The World Award

Created by Joe of Light House Devotion.

The Apostle Paul said, “Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.” (Romans 13:7).

Joe shares, “I believe that true believers and followers of Jesus Christ are actually like lighthouses for God. For this reason and because Jesus Himself said that we are the “light of the world,” I decided to create The Light of The World Award to honor authors (bloggers) whose presence on the web serves as a shining light for Christ and His Gospel of salvation.”

Now for the four questions the award gives.

#1 – What three words would you use to describe your blog?

Screen Shot 2018-05-23 at 10.40.10 PM.png

– The three words I would describe Inside Cup as encouraging, thought-provoking, and community.

#2- In what way(s) can a Christian shine for Christ?

Screen Shot 2018-05-23 at 10.41.35 PM.png

-What you see is what you get. Our first impression on people is HUGE. Within a few seconds, people can tell if something stands out about us. If our heart and our relationship are right with Christ, then these things will naturally shine.

From an initial impression, consistency is important. If we are working on patience, self-control and other fruits of the Spirit then we need to reap the harvest of these fruits and people will see these fruits. It’s one thing for a person to see us on a good day when God has blessed us, but what are we like when we struggle? What is our perspective on God in those times? How do others observe and internalize that?

#3- What bible verse (quote it) talks about being a light in a dark and lost world?

Screen Shot 2018-05-23 at 10.38.49 PM.png

(NIV) 2 Corinthians 4:06, “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”

#4- What Christian song do you know that has the word “light” in it? Provide a link if available.

From what this question says it doesn’t look like it has to be in the title. However, my selected song does have the word “light” in the title. 😉

The Wound Is Where The Light Gets In– Jason Gray – this song speaks of our weakness and how God can use our pain and wounds to shine through.

(If you can’t see the video below, you can try the link to the lyric video here as well.)

Now is when I nominate at least 7 bloggers and explain why I have chosen them. 🙂 I have chosen 20 amazing bloggers because I think this is a special award, and this isn’t to make anyone feel left out, but these bloggers truly have been an encouragement to me and I see their effort and care in Christ.

Mia- Called To Be A Writer – Mia covers some amazing heartfelt and very honest posts. She explores our weaknesses and brings to the light what we need to have our eyes opened to.

Maggie- Dreaming Of Guatemala– Maggie is one of the first bloggers I ever really connected to when I started becoming part of the community. She has reached out to the community in so many ways, and her posts are always a blessing to not only myself but many others. She shines the light of Christ through honesty and love of family.

Noes to Knows Her blog is full of the light of reality and how God works with us through it. She isn’t afraid to share what is on her heart and her desire to encourage others shines through earnestly.

Rachel- The Buttercup Lamb– Rachel shines in such a gentle way, and yet she is leaving amazing impressions on people’s hearts and footprints on this earth. Her poetry is raw. Her care for nature and family comes from her mothering heart, and her desire to see God in all things.

Jirah Merizz- Her love shines for the community. She is always coming up with amazing ideas on how to incorporate the community more and encourage others.

Teen Meet God– This girl lets her love for Christ shine. In pictures, she takes of His beautiful creations. In discussions about the Bible and the people long before us.

Faye- Create. In. Me.– Faye is not afraid to shine the light on topics we struggle to talk about, but we need to hear. That post on Instagram? 😉 Her care and love for God also shine through, and I always take something from her posts.

His Perfect Timing– There has never been a post I have not related to. Her blog is all about the love of Christ and how to reach out to others.

Ruth- Planted By Living Water– Ruth is all about community. She inspires everyone and encourages everyone to come together in prayer and worship. After all, she encouraged me to share my worship prayers for God. 🙂

Penny- A Southern Belle With Stories To Tell– Penny has been such a delight to get to know. She’s a newer Christian teen blogger, for anyone searching for new bloggers. She is optimistic and enjoys learning while encouraging others to keep trying.

Walking On Unsteady Ground– This young woman opens up about what some hide. She shares her journey on sobriety. She pours her heart out when she struggles and she recognizes the Lord’s hand even when things are hard.

Grace- Following Him – Grace is always kind and her love for Christ is evident. She is one of the few bloggers who will check in with me when I’ve been absent and sick. She shares what the Lord inspires her with.

Lea- Dancing After Jesus– This girl makes every post an adventure. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Her love for Christ pours out into her writing and her life. Her desire to understand His plan and share everything He is sharing with her. It speaks.

Sue- Run With It– Sue, in my opinion, does not get the kind of recognition she should. I do not say this with an air of bragging. But her heart is always pouring out for the Lord and for people to turn over to Him. If you want encouragement, if you want understanding, and the truth of scripture her blog is all about that. She shares songs the Lord inspires and puts on her heart. Her love and light for Him is all over her blog.

Leigh- All You Need Is JesusLeigh is wonderful at encouraging the community and shining her honesty. She explores what we need to do as believers, and she openly shares when she learns new things.

Tammy- God Inspired Art– Tammy is always going around the community just brimming over with encouragement and praise for the Lord.

God’s Warrior –Taking Up My Cross– His blog shines with the truth of the gospel and community. Not many people take the time to study God’s word alongside other people and listen to what others have to say. But he does his best to not only share his opinion, and what speaks to him, but to share what others inspire him with.

Matthew Winters- Comeback Pastor– As someone who is not able to attend church much when I am not visiting home, I’m always thankful for my blogger pastors in this community. Pastor Winters definitely pushes the community with honesty and truth. His words shine with guidance and urgency to go to God and His word.

Rebekah- Grace Abounds– She is always trying to encourage others to look at God’s word and trust Him. Her words shine the truth of what it means to have a relationship with Jesus.

LynnInk & Image– Lynn’s love for Christ not only shines through her beautiful words but her paintings as well. She not only paints on the canvas but with her words. I know I’ve been encouraged and uplifted by Lynn so many times, and I know her amazing support and comments have lifted up others as well.

  1. Thank you so much for the nomination for this award, T.R. I didn’t expect this (Ha, ha) but I am honored to be nominated and continue to pray that each blog post inspires, encourages, uplifts, and impacts someone’s life no matter where they are or what they’re going through.

I am definitely going to check out Penny’s blog. I can’t wait to see what she has to say about God and for us as Christians. I love the blogs that you choose because each one has inspired me in some way, shape, or form.

    1. That’s wonderful! Penny shares both topics on Christ and writing and she’s a great blogger.

You are welcome!! I’m so glad these blogs have reached out to you just like they have for me.

    1. They are the questions that come with the award 🙂 not ones the nominee changes. I agree, they definitely fit the award.

I’ve been working on the Liebster award you gave me a while ago, and that should come out tomorrow. I love you questions for me!

And of course you are welcome!!! 🙂

      1. 🙂 no worries!!! I tried to let people know you don’t have to come up with your own questions which is a slightly different than other awards.

I went a little in depth with my answers haha, like your first one was about who was my best friend. I gave a full paragraph haha. 🙂

  2. Aww girlie! This is an absolutely beautiful award, and is definitely one that means a lot to me to receive from you! ❤ I love how Joe recognized the fact that there are bloggers who dedicate their time to sharing God’s love through this online outlet. I’m so blessed to be one of them! ❤ Your blog is such an encouragement to me, both in my walk with the Lord and my journey as a blogger! I love your use of images on your site, I always have 🙂 Thanks again for the award, and sorry I rambled a bit, haha!

    1. 🙂 you are always welcome!! It’s such a blessing to get to know you and your writing. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you.

I can’t wait to get started on that blog post idea next week. Do you think it’s okay if I created a new character specifically for this?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Thank you!! ❤
I can’t wait either!!!! Sure, you can make a new character! I’m bursting at the seams with excitement with what we’ll do!
        (P. S. My characters wanted to let you know that they are excited, but also a little nervous. I think they are worried they will die. I guess they will just have to wait and see…….:))

      2. Hahaha! I’ve been like should I use a villian? Should I create someone new? Cause a lot of my characters have huge backstories attached and I don’t really want to reveal anything. But creating a new character for this completely allows anything to go!! 🙂

  3. You did GREAT! Thanks for sharing your award and for the very inspiring thoughts you shared on how to be a light for Christ. Truly, first impressions go a loooooong way. And thanks for sharing that song. I love it! Keep that light brightly shining so that the world will see that ONLY in Jesus there is hope and salvation. Congrats!

  4. Thanks so much for the nomination, T.R.! I am so humbled by your kind words about my blog ☺️ but, like I said, it’s your blog that encourages me and challenges me, and also motivates me and inspires me! I’m so thankful God connected us! ❤️
I’m excited to check out the other blogs you mentioned that I’m not already following, too! 👍🏼 I’ll work on my response to this nomination for next week’s post.

  5. Congratulations Sis! Good nominations. I follow most of them already and I totally agree with what you said concerning them. I have started following the others except the ones who don’t have a follow button. Well done!❤️

  6. T.R., Thank you for the nomination of the award, but the glory and praise all belong to God. I would not even be writing on the internet if God had not called me, equipped me, prepared me, nurtured and inspired me, and led me to what to write, and all for his purposes and for his glory and praise.

Congrats on your award, as well. I love reading your blog, as you know. I love your heart for the Lord and for us, and your openness and honesty.

I will get back with you soon concerning the accepting of the award after I have committed this to prayer. Again, Thank you for honoring me in this way. It is a great way we can encourage one another in Christ.

    1. Absolutely! We can’t get anywhere without Him. 🙂 Take your time, no rush. And if you feel God doesn’t want you to do it, that’s completely okay too. 🙂 I like how the nomination allows me to let others know about blogs and explaining what that blogger has done for me. ❤

  7. Thank you with all my heart, dearest TR! I’m in the same boat as you are as far as receiving awards goes. I actually decided not to accept them some time ago because I was so tardy in doing so… but perhaps, if you can wait one year to accept an award, I won’t feel bad if it takes a long time for me to do so. :-/ 😉 I will therefore try to get to this one simply because YOU have nominated me and I’m incredibly honored that you should include me in this illustrious list! Thank you with all my heart! And by the way, congratulations to you for this award! If anyone truly embodies it, you do!! Love and huge hugs!

    1. Goodness, Lynn, your kind words are moving me to near tears. Thank you so much. Yes, I am not about people getting awards out on time because I have a weekly schedule and I totally understand it is not always easy to do the awards on time, if at all, and that’s completely okay!! 🙂 That said, sure, if it takes a year, I will still be here ❤ No worries!

That's so sweet you will try to do this just because of me. I really don't have many words on how that makes me feel and how encouraging it is to me that we are friends and sisters in Christ. Thank you, again!! Hugs!!

  8. Congratulations! 🎊 I loved your answers. 🙂

“It’s one thing for a person to see us on a good day when God has blessed us, but what are we like when we struggle?” That question really hit home for me, haha.

Thanks so much for the nomination and for the kind words – I can’t wait to do this! 🙂 (And of course I had to check in with you – I get worried when someone isn’t feeling well. 💜)
