Community Spotlight | May ’18

*This isn’t meant to make anyone feel like they need to be on this list. There are a lot of awesome posts I’ve read that I do not always share, and that does not mean the posts not listed were bad.

These are the posts that spoke to me in the month of May.

EfuaBlessed Are They Which Are Persecuted– This is a really great piece about how the closer we draw towards Christ the more other people may have an issue with it. There are things we choose not to do because it isn’t Christlike and that can be a challenge for others.

Penny WoodWhen Reading The Bible Is Boring– Penny is a newer blogger and it’s so awesome to see her in this community. She loves recipes. She’s a homeschooler. Her heart is for the Lord. Go check her out 🙂 Now this post is all about why we need to push ourselves to read the Bible even when we feel disconnected, distracted, or possibly, dare I say it, bored. Penny openly admits her own struggles and shares reasons as to why we need to read.

The Church Revolution3 Struggles For Millenials– This is a really thought-provoking post. It opens up the discussion of why we do not see the younger generation attending church as much, and problems on both perspectives of why this is.

Dreaming Of GuatemalaWaiting On The Lord– Maggie writes a very encouraging and honest post about why it’s important to wait on the Lord. She shares insight on how God often speaks to us while we are waiting on Him. He is crafting His plan in our life during the waiting period. Very encouraging and thought-provoking.

Through Ink & ImageUltimate Safety– Lynn writes a thought-provoking post explaining how Satan will disguise things as something “positive” like the Wizard of Oz’s poppy field, only for it to become toxic.

I remember Mama– This was a beautiful post that Lynn wrote on her mother. It was not only very touching but you truly get a glimpse of this amazing woman’s heart for Christ and others.

Loved by King of KingsSteps Toward Love– Powerful post on how the Lord can help us love the ones we struggle to love. A number of tips are suggested as to how we can learn to love others. Very thought-provoking.

Faith By Sight- Why I Blog?– Leigh brings up the good question of where is our heart when we blog. Are we doing it for ourselves or Christ?

Walking Unsteady- 2 Car Accidents, 2 Siblings, And Life-Changing Encounter– What a powerful post! Right when life is beating you down, and you aren’t sure if you can endure, God provides reminders and moments of blessings and joy.

Planted By Living Water- Speak– Has God ever given you a word for the year? Ruth shares how God gave her different words throughout the years and how each one connected to the next. The lessons she took from those years all led up to the current one.

My Way Home Life- Martha..Martha-This is a beautiful perspective on Martha and Jesus when Martha wanted Mary to help her. Jesus wasn’t scolding her, rather wanting her to be focused on what really mattered. We easily can be overwhelmed by this world if we do not sit at Jesus’ feet and simply listen.

Create In Me- I Am An Imperfect College Student– Going to college isn’t easy. Faye shares what she’s learned in the past year, and as a graduate of college, I relate to everything she has shared.

Called To Be A WriterTalking With God- This was a beautiful post on prayer. Mia shares why prayer is important, and ways we can work on prayer if we struggle. I don’t want to give too much away, but definitely check this post out if you want to read about prayer.

Dancing After Jesus10 Things I’m Learning– Lea is finishing her senior year of high school, and as she does she too has learned a lot in the past year. Again, I don’t want to give too much away, but all of these points are things we should be aware of and work on.

Jess Kidding- Keep Your Eyes On The Couch Pillows– Jess is a new blogger that I’ve found recently after she commented on one of my posts. I love her style of post writing. Often tying in life stories to Christ-like lessons. This post is all about how her 10-month-old daughter reminded her that we can’t ever back down when it comes to the enemy. We always need to be ready and with our guard up.

Did you read any of these during the month of May? Did they speak to you?

    1. Thanks!! I will back to schedule so it will be nice. For Song Sundays, I am going to start introducing Christian rock songs for the month of June, all very powerful songs, I hope people are okay with that.

  1. Thanks T. R. I am so many on here because of other issues I am currently dealing with. In fact I need prayer for God to give me wisdom to handle an ongoing case with one of the youths I lead in church. This case is taking my time and everything really hence I haven’t been here much. I appreciate everything you are doing. God bless you my sis❤️

      1. Yes please. To be specific, I need prayers for wisdom in dealing with the issue and that the heart of this young boy will be softened towards God. That God will deliver him from the hands of the occult (if he has joined one). Thanks a lot Sis.

  3. Thank you, T.R. This was wonderful! I had a large block of time where I could read, and so I read and read and read, and it was wonderful and so encouraging and it was just what I needed to hear. I needed this encouragement and strengthening, and I needed to hear from other bloggers and what God is teaching them, so thank you!

    1. I’ll admit a lot of my reading is skimming, and then focusing on what really stands out. I have so many people I try to keep up with, I’m not always able to be as consistent as I would like to.

Way to go on post making!!! 🙂
