A Plant In The Window | Midweek Inspiration

I’m a plant in the window.

I see all kinds of things.

From rainstorms to snow

to butterfly wings.

People pass my window.

Aloft inside their head.

Faces stuck into phones.

Hands clenched in dread.

I grow from the sunlight.

From the Healer’s kind hand.

Yet these same people have it

but refuse to understand.

What window do we look through

as we face this foreign home?

What eyes do we see with

that remind us we aren’t alone?

I’m a plant in the window.

I see all kinds of things.

From rainstorms to snow

to butterfly wings.

  1. Wow, I love this. What an anointed poem, straight from the heart of God. It really spoke to me today, as both a daughter of God and a plant lover. Thank you so much for sharing this. God bless you!

  3. Oh, I always love your poetry! This is simple yet profound– your descriptions are so lovely and I can picture everything perfectly in my mind! I am always impressed when someone can personify something as “insignificant” as a plant. Amazing job! ❤

    1. Thank you so much, Faye! 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed the poem and could visualize everything clearly!! I really enjoy looking at the perspective of an inanimate object. It’s really fun!
