Community Prayer Request | August ’18

This post is updated, sometimes daily, please check in for updates, answered prayers, and for continued prayer over the requests. Thank you!

Let’s work together on prayer by praying for each other and lifting up our needs. Christ said where two or more are gathered in His name, and there are definitely more than two of us. Let us come together to Him even if we are miles apart. Let us lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ and anyone who can join the body of Christ.

Purpose- Draw Closer To God, Draw Closer To The Community, See Answered Prayers

I want us as a community to pray for a month. I want to work on giving time to Christ and increasing faith. Prayer can be one of the most powerful ways we go to Christ, we are to come to Him boldly, and believe.

Please Comment Below –

– If God reached out to you during this month of prayer, please share how He reached you down below. Whether prayer was listed or not.

– If you would like your request listed, please comment below. If you do not want to say details just say unspoken, and I will add it. God will know what the unspoken is. 🙂

Here are the prayer requests for the month of August.

Loved By King of KingsRequest For Wisdom & Healing–  “Prayers needed for wisdom for all who have a part in caring for my parents. Praying that Mom’s sugar levels will go down and she will get extra care givers if/as she needs them.”

MiaRequest for family’s salvation, guidance, and protection.- ” I’d like to request an ongoing prayer for the salvation of my family here and in New Zealand. As far as my writing goes, more specifically I need wisdom, words, creativity, courage, clear thinking, perseverance, productivity, and the Lord’s will to be done (hopefully that includes for me to get this rough draft finished by Nov 1st). I feel like there’s some spiritual warfare going on regarding my writing, so I also ask for all spirits of fear, doubt, discouragement, and distraction to be bound in Jesus Name, Amen.”

Nitin- Request For Direction- “Please pray for me, my family. Pray that God’s plans for our family will be fulfilled.”

VivianRequest for healing“I would love prayer for my healing, especially my nervous system and cranial nerves from TBI.”

JessRequest Her friend Lisa and Lisa’s mother and children were in a car accident on the Fourth of July. Lisa is on a ventilator right now. The whole family needs prayers, and Lisa needs prayer of healing. Jess wrote a post giving more details and if you would like to donate to help the family.

UPDATE! – Jess gave me an update. Let’s still continue praying for healing for Lisa. OUR GOD IS GOOD!“UPDATE on Lisa: She has made a TREMENDOUS turn around! She is off the ventilator and has moved on to rehab. AND- our girl is back! She remembers her family, talks and interacts with them, and her memory is coming back around. This is so far beyond what was initially expected for her and is really, truly nothing short of a miracle from God. Thank you, thank you, thank you for praying!”

LeighRequest for her nephew. He is a young teen, getting ready for high school, and recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Please pray for this young man to be directed in the right steps in continuing and growing in his walk with Christ.

Request For Church“My church, which has been open 65 years, is on the verge of closing. There are just too many problems with the physical building that we are going to have to move. We will be relaunching in January as a new church with a new name and most likely will have to meet in schools until we find a new building to call our own. Please pray that everything goes smoothly as we transition in this phase of life.”

Rescheduled Hearing– Leigh has been asking prayer for a hearing on her disability and getting help because she cannot work. It was supposed to happen this past June, but then got rescheduled for later, closer to the fall. Please lift her up and ask the Lord for His hand, assurance, and deliverance in Leah’s life.

JirahRequest for healing– Prayers to lift up her and her family.

Sue Love & Her Husband – Request for prayer against deception and darkness as there is spiritual warfare going on. Continued prayer for Sue to feel assurance, guidance, and direction from the Lord: “Need prayer for strength, courage, wisdom, joy, peace, and for resting in the Lord.”

– Request for her husband’s spirit to be pricked and refined by the Lord daily. For him to be truthful. To lay the past at the feet of Jesus, and to leave any sins there. And, pray for his father, as well, who is 90 years old, who has Alzheimer’s, and was just placed in a nursing home, and is not a believer in Jesus Christ. Please pray for his salvation, as well.

TamaraContinued prayers for her son Elliott, and for Tamara to continue to advocate those with mental illness and those supporting loved ones with mental illness.

A friend’s brother–  Request for someone’s brother who has schizophrenia and he needs to be uplifted. I ask for prayers that he is surrounded by those who can support and help him. I ask prayers of strength for the family.  I also ask this friend of mine be uplifted against anxiety. That this friend feels continued assurance from God, and His teachings.

Beehopper- Request For Assurance- She discussed how stressful her moving situation has been. They have finally found a place, but need prayers for a place for her parents, her daughter, and overall assurance and peace upon the family. “Prayers for a place for them to live would be appreciated. Its been stressful to be sure. I’ve moved a lot in my life but this one has paid a toll. Also its been a huge transition for my daughter. Praying GOOD friends come along beside her.”

Pastor Winters & Church FamilyRequest For Guidance– He and his church family need prayer of guidance and direction. He wrote about it in this post here.

My Request- Please pray for God’s hand in the lives of myself and my husband. That God prepares a place for my husband to have a co-op and potentially be at a place he can work at after he graduates that is in his field. I ask for His hand on our household and finances and in my writing.

Remember, to pray for the lost, for the body of Christ, leaders to be strengthened, and believers to draw closer to God. We have some fellow bloggers in ministries in Italy and India, please remember them.

Pray for the Lord’s hand resting upon those being abused, trafficked, locked in addiction, those who feel unloved, and those suffering from illness.

Pray for the widows, the fatherless, the poor, the hungry, and pray for your own walk with Christ.

If you have a prayer request, or I missed posting it, please let me know in the comments below and I will list it in the prayer requests.

      2. I had a friend who had to go to the police station today and wanted someone to go with him. While there I managed to put my complaint in. I have to go for a filmed interview on Tuesday but it’s probably going through

  1. Thank you for this opportunity to pray for others and to present prayer requests.
I’d like to request an ongoing prayer for the salvation of my family here and in New Zealand.
It feels selfish of me to ask for prayer for my writing when there’s so many people in need of more important things, but I know no prayer request is too small or insignificant to the Lord. As far as my writing goes, more specifically I need wisdom, words, creativity, courage, clear thinking, perseverance, productivity, and the Lord’s will to be done (hopefully that includes for me to get this rough draft finished by Nov 1st). I feel like there’s some spiritual warfare going on regarding my writing, so I also ask for all spirits of fear, doubt, discouragement, and distraction to be bound in Jesus Name, Amen.
    Thanks, T.R. 😊

      1. That gives me some comfort knowing I’m not the only one who feels the spiritual warfare on the writing. I was wondering if people would think that was a bunch of baloney 😉

    For everyone: Proverbs 15:29 NASBS

  4. The Lord led me and my husband to move to the city where we are now located a year ago. Because of the cost of housing here, we got a one bedroom apartment. So, the living room doubles as my office, but it is also our living room which is a shared room. My husband is retired, so we are together pretty much all the time.

Then, when we did our taxes last year we realized we didn’t owe anything because we live on Social Security, so we didn’t need to have taxes taken out of our checks anymore. This gave us a 10% increase, so we could now afford a two-bedroom apartment. So, we put in a request at our apartment complex for the first available.

A couple of weeks ago I was praying for the Lord to provide us with a Two-bedroom apartment and an hour later I had an email telling us one was available mid-August. I don’t always get such immediate responses to my prayers, but I did that day.

This will give me an office (my studio) where I can work free from distractions and space for my husband, too, where he can play music or whatever without disturbing me, and I have a sense that with this move that the ministry the Lord has given me will expand, but I take that one step at a time.

Anyway, I thank the Lord for the blessing of this additional space and for answered prayer.

  5. Yes, Intercessory prayer is the most powerful weapon we have against the enemy. Which is the power of God manifesting in our brothers and sisters, his miraculous feats in the children of men. May the Lord shine upon your face, May the Lord Bless you. May we always bless the Lord in each other. Amen
