These ones pack a punch, but we need it!
“You remain most like Christ when you remain silent under attack.” – Anonymous
- HOW TRUE! Christ was all about going the extra mile. He encourages us to be slow to anger and slow to open our mouth. I know I need this reminder.
“Don’t say God is silent when your Bible is closed.” Anonymous
- OUCH! We can also fill in “Don’t say God is silent when you aren’t praying, worshipping, meditating on scripture, and in general focusing on Him.” He is LIVING WATER for a reason. We need Him daily!
“If you only seek God in desperate circumstances, He is going to keep you there. Why? Because He deeply desires to be with you.” – Jonni Nicole
- The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Being a “good” Christian is not going to stop us from entering hard times. However, it’s true. Many times God tries to reach us when life is tough. He is our strength and our fortress, yet, we struggle with a lack of control and complain when things are hard. Instead of running to our Father, we run to a corner and suck our thumbs like children. It’s easy for us to wonder WHY God “allows” us to go through hard times. But it is harder to think maybe He wants us to draw closer to Him.
I hope one of these quotes spoke to you and that during this week they continue to speak to you.

I like numbers 2 & 3 the best.
What kind of craziness we put ourselves through in our unbelief and rebellion! If only we could remember that He is FOR us, wouldn’t we be quicker to run to Him for loving fellowship instead of just for help?

These are all good and convicting, but the first one about remaining silent in face of attack has really hit home to me lately. I need to let God fight my battles more often than not. Great post. God bless you for your ministry.

We need that reminder especially when so much is going on. Tensions rise, tempers rise, and we feel helpless. But God never is helpless. He is always strong. He never breaks, and He keeps every promise 🙂 So grateful He spoke to you through this!
Thank you so much! Any time He can reach others and receive His glory, I’m thankful to see how and why He wants me to write.

I really like #2. I feel like I experienced something similar last night. I was struggling and basically just prayed that Jesus would come meet me. It was like He said, “I already have,” and pointed me to my Bible. I opened it up and He spoke so clearly into my struggle and filled me with His life through His Word. I think knowing Jesus is a lot more simple and concrete than we sometimes make it out to be! Thanks for sharing these quotes, TR. 😊
