Christian Blogging Community

Quotes From YOU | December ’18

I’ve been holding in this excitement for weeks! I’ve been wanting to share this for so long!

Ahem…SURPRISE! ❤

I have been wondering how I can make a new community series…and finally I know what I’m going to do 😉

Many people enjoyed in the Alphabet Devotional hearing from the community. In fact, I was asked a few times if I was going to do anything similar. The problem was the series was very tedious, time-consuming. But the core of what it represented, well, I like that 🙂

I’ve been racking my brain since trying to figure out something I can make that shares more of the community’s thoughts, not just posts.

Quotes from YOU is a way to not only advertise Christian bloggers and their posts but to give you an idea of who these bloggers are. Selecting a particular quote from a blogger’s post that stands out to me, that I hope, stands out to you.

Usually, in a quote post, I select few, but this is the community. Take some time to hear what they have to say.

Here are quotes from bloggers that stood out to me in the month of December.

“I need God’s help to respond in faith and courage, remembering that my God is with me and FOR me even when the enemy comes against me. I need God’s help to remember that only what HE says about me is important, not what other people say about me, especially when it is not true!” – Ruth

“It’s so easy for our moral compass to spin out of control when the stakes are high. Dizzy with success, but left inside with an empty feeling and a bitter taste in the mouth.” – Fractured Faith

“Stop trying to be the person who seems to have it all together. Stop trying to heel grab and get what other people have. GRAB ONTO THE ONE WHO TRULY HAS THE POWER TO BLESS YOU AND WHO WANTS TO USE YOUR IMPERFECT STORY.” – Holly

“Sometimes I hit roadblocks along the way which temporarily may keep me from moving forward in a particular direction. . . But, not only do we need to pray and ask God for his help, instead of getting angry or afraid, but we need to call on one another and ask them for help, too, and not feel that we need to go this alone.” – Sue

“Love without total surrender or commitment is artificial love, at best.”- Beehopper

“How much are you doing between Sunday services to disciple your children? If you are making some excuse about not being theologically trained or ministers being experts, that is a cop-out. We have gotten this thing screwed up along the way.” – Matthew

“As a matter of fact, arguing His existence doesn’t change the fact that He exists. He doesn’t need scientists to validate His existence before He can be.” Efua

“Know that He is also building you up for a specific purpose within His Kingdom. There are people that only you will be able to reach. If you are a Christian, God has begun a good work in you, and He will use you to reach others in unique ways! . . . Realize that there is no such thing as an unimpressive testimony!” – Olivia

“I believe that the fruits we are bearing can be based to the tree we are deeply rooted in. To the principles, we believe in. To the people, we are associated with. To the church, we belong to where we eat our spiritual food. To the church leader, we are following.” The Little Miss Encourager

“Putting my mask on, my wall up, and refusing to let people see the vulnerable side of me doesn’t draw them to Christ. Showing them the lows reveals how much I rely on God. Showing them the darker moments will hopefully help them to celebrate the highs with me.” Autumn Wood Writes

“The more I become saturated with the Word, the more I realize that often it’s the things I want least to hear that I need to hear most. In today’s American Christianity, there is an abundance of shelf space advertised as “Christian.” But mark my words: Just because a thing speaks of the Lord or quotes Scripture does not mean the teaching is based on sound doctrine.” Heather

“The One who created you knows the word that’s yet to be uttered. So do not despair when you walk out of the closet.” – Ceceila

“My vocation is taking what I know about Christ and my personal relationship with Him, and putting it into action. It is taking responsibility of what I know and taking my passions and using them to further benefit and to bring the light of Christ to this dark world.” –Eleanor

“I treat him as more of a friend than a sovereign, which is good in some ways. But it could also cause me to lose the great respect and reverence I should have for God, the Creator of the universe.” – Shae

Choosing to trust in the Lord and following His ways will produce FREEDOM in a believer’s life. No longer will one invite the presence of demons into their life, if they choose to trust and follow the Lord’s ways instead.” – Beautifully Rewritten

“I want to write for the Lord and bring others to Christ. I want His life evident in my life and that when people see me, they see Jesus.” – Leigh

“I find it funny the God works– people now call me “the most encouraging person” and they praise my optimism. The thing is, only six months ago I complained and struggled seeing the good in anything or anyone.”- Faith

“His presence overpowered anything that I could have OR could not have done. I realized that part of my problem was my overarching assumption that I could somehow control my future. This event showed me that God was taking control because, for once, without me even realizing it, I let Him.” – Kiki

“Allow themselves to be cut down, the most painful process. Allow themselves to be lovingly picked up afterward, and grafted onto the Parent tree. Allow the Life from the Parent Tree to flow into them. Become instead of self trees, become humility trees.” – Grace

I hope you enjoyed the surprise!

  1. Hands down, I just want to say that you are one amazing woman and literally and transparently speaking, continue to challenge me when I’m on here to not be so selfish. This is the message God convicted me with when I read your first post, as I already shared with you. However, as I go on the sites of the men and women that you posted on here, I see you taking the time to comment on each one. Truly, the love and compassion of God is radiating through you! What an honor to cross your path and I praise the Living God that He is showing me the corruption of my heart so that way I can turn and flee from it and grow more into the likeness of Him! Thank you for the shout out sis and Happy New Year!

    1. I praise Jesus so much for this! I want people to be encouraged. I have a post I am thinking about writing for Christian bloggers to be examples best as we can and show the light of Christ in everything we do, including blogging and how we reach out to others in the blogging community. He has pushed and continues to urge me to take time for others. I’m still at an infant stage I think because it has only been something I’ve really been working on this past last year.

I was praying this would speak to others. ❤ Glory be to God!

      1. Amen sis, amen!! I love how you said your at an “infant stage” of the revelation He gave you. I can say the same for myself regarding our identity in Christ. The more we know and grow in what the Lord has revealed to us, the more we are able to share it with the world to encourage others! Can’t wait to see more of what He is teaching you about selflessness. Praise Him! ❤️

    1. Oh yay! Autumn has great work! I thought this might be a deeper way to connect and to hear how others are speaking with their walk with Christ instead of checking out every link, I know it’s a lot.

      You are most welcome!!

  2. They are all wonderful quotes and thoughts. As I read back through them, the one that seemed to grab my attention more, at the moment, is “As a matter of fact, arguing His existence doesn’t change the fact that He exists. He doesn’t need scientists to validate His existence before He can be.” Efua. That’s the approach I try to take – relating to others with God’s compassion and love, and not being judgmental nor argumentative – knowing we don’t need to debate His existence and ways. He is who He is. 🙂

    1. Yes! I love her blog and she always challenges me to focus on Christ no matter what and I love the truth my sister in Christ continues to spread. It is crucial we learn how to be gentle when the tempation of debate is so very near. Amen!!

    1. I was so grateful for the idea, God laid on my heart. I’ve been waiting since the summer to see how to do something like this. It turned out wonderfully and I hope it both encourages and strengthens others. 🙂

  3. Thanks, T.R. I enjoyed reading these. I am a very slow reader, so it will take me a while to get through all of them, but I love the variety of topics and writing style. Whenever you do anything like this I get to find blogs I never found before, too.

  4. I love this idea, T.R.! I’ve read and enjoyed each one and clicked through to a couple of the blogs to read the quote in context. I’d like to come back and read more later. This is such a great way to help Christian bloggers find each other!
Thanks so much for the shout out! I’m humbled and grateful.

    1. Thank you so much, Ruth! Ever since God pressed the word community on my heart last year, I see why it is needed. It helps me work on stepping out of the spotlight, and I need that. ❤ I'm so grateful seeing everyone's love for Christ and how He is leading them. I'm thankful it speaks to others and encourages them!

You are more than welcome for the shout out!
