Today, let’s focus on God. Aside from the worry. Aside from others. I know we all need this reminder.
“Those who leave everything in God’s hands will eventually see God’s hands in everything.”
– This is so true! If we focus on Him, we will see Him! If we are not looking for Him, we won’t see Him.
“Don’t worry about other people’s opinions of you. God never told you to impress people; only love them.” Dave Willis
– How many times have I let others determine my worth, especially with believers? Shame on me. It is not about impressing others. It is not about even being understood by everyone, something I really struggle with. Focusing on Christ is key, nothing else compares.
“When insecurities arise, imagine a roaring lion, then stand and watch the insecurities flee.” – Karen Smith
– I’ve been working on catching myself when I feel fear arise in my heart. To stop my focus on worry and the impending fear, and turning it over to God in prayer. It is not easy, but He has stopped panic in my heart many times through this. I’m grateful.

These 3 quotes maybe be used often, in different ways, but it so good to have a reminder of them every now and again. God Bless 🙂

Yeah, worry would probably be the hardest to let go of. Sometimes it seems to persist after prayer. I graduated from the school of worry, fear, anxiety with a PhD. So perhaps that has something to do with it.

Very possible! Worry is certainly a neighbor that likes to visit unexpectedly and never leave.

My favorite quote is yours: “if we focus on him we will see him.” I feel like I’ve done so much self reflection lately that it has been unhealthy. God needs to be my main focus!

Amen!! You know I think some self reflection is good especially if we can learn from it, but you’re right, it can distract us away from what we really need to be focusing on. ❤

Thank you for sharing! I love them all but the first one really spoke to me. Life events bump my focus away from Him far too often. Thanks for the encouragement to stay close and look for Him. ❤️

It’s such a simple truth but one I think we struggle with a lot, I know I do 🙂 so grateful He guides me with a loving hand.

I love the first quote about leaving everything in God’s hands. This is something I’ve really been struggling to do lately. I so badly want to see my husband and all my kids connected in Godly fellowship with other believers, growing spiritually, hungering for the Word. One of them seems to have it though she’s in a dark, sarcastic phase. The other kids… well, they want to do anything but go to church or read the Word. It’s tough, and I’m wanting to muscle it in and force the issue instead of trusting God to handle it and to work in my husband’s heart to be the lead in this.
I actually asked my man one day if I tend to take control in spiritual matters, and he said yes. I had been convicted before by Sarah’s story when she tried to “help” God provide the promised heir, and my man’s words confirmed the conviction. So now, it’s a daily struggle fought on my knees and I ask the Lord to set a guard over my mouth so I don’t speak words that would harm rather than help!

I think our frustration sometimes comes from our wanting of control and then we struggle with God’s way, free will of others, and patience. So I completely hear where you are coming from! We want to something good but unfortunately we sometimes want to step ahead and lead ahead. God has to tap us on the shoulder and say, “I have this.” I truly believe what you have shared many other parents relate to. You are not alone and God loves you, He understands the heart of a parent deeply. ❤
