There are people being persecuted for following Christ. People are dying for Him. Being in America, I think I’m desensitized to this. Missionaries are dying. Preachers are dying. People are being killed because they believe and follow Christ.
And though I’ve been fortunate to not really encounter problems with this in America, that doesn’t mean other Christians in America have the same story. People die in America for Christ. They get murdered. Or abused.
They may not be the stories on the news, but it happens, especially when families do not believe in Christ and they have a member who does. Even if it is not death or physical pain, people are cut off. Isolated.
It’s crucial we lift up our brothers and sisters, the ones we don’t know. God knows them! He knows their situations! People waver in faith. People struggle in life. We want everyone to draw closer to Christ, not away!
Be on the lookout for prayer requests. A lot of our fighting is done in prayer. It may not seem like a lot to the world, but do not forget we request to a King over all kings. A Savior. A Refiner.
Do not forget the name of the One who taught you to fight on your knees, beloved of Christ.
It was because of prayer, Christ endured temptation.
It was because of prayer, Christ went to the cross.
Lift up the body of Christ!
Against the darkness.
Against the arrows of the evil one.
This is how we fight!
Prayer: Lord, God, please be with Your body! Please be with those who are leaders. Those who are struggling to teach and yet, You have called them to teach. Help those who are volunteering to fill positions they may feel out of place in. Help those who are in the background serving Your glory. Remind them they are as important to You as anyone else.
Help those who are being turned away by friends, family, and peers because of You. Speak for them, Comforter. Be their words in these trying times. Help others, whose hearts may be hardened, listen to Your truth. Give shelter and strength to those who lack. Be the Father to the fatherless and let them be aware of Your hand. For those wavering faith, for the hearts who have become lukewarm, Refiner, refine their souls with coal. Be glorified at all times, and guide Your people. We need You!. Amen.
(NIV) 2 Thessalonians 3:01, “As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.”

Praying for each other is so important. This is an excellent post, it is so easy to get distracted and forget others who need our prayers. I have a prayer board in my living room, others call it my war board, it not only serve to give me focus on praying for others but is a great conversational piece when I have company, inspiring my guests to remember to pray for others as well. Thanks for sharing this post.

Thank you for following in the footsteps of Paul who often prayed for the congregations he addressed his epistles to.

So important we lift everyone up in prayer. I’m working on doing this not only daily but I want to work on throughout the day.

Yeah absolutely. I find that life provides us breaks (like lunch for example) for just these things.

Well said sis! A lot is happening. We need to become our brother’s keeper. We need to pray the way we would like others to if it was our turn to be prayed for

Beautiful post and you nailed every single point in it! Testimony from 2015: The Lord opened my eyes to the reality of Christian Persecution. I began praying for our siblings in the region of Nigeria and persecution. About 6 months later the Lord brought me a sister all the way from Nigeria to my college. She told me her story and I told her “ I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU!!” She has been my best friend ever since and the Lord used her to disciple me, making me the woman I am today. The Lord is leading you to pray like this and encourage others for a reason! Blessings to you sister!

❤ Praise the Lord for your sister and your friendship as sisters in Christ! ❤ ❤ ❤ Thank you so much for sharing, this is beautiful and shows how wonderfully He weaves us together as the body of Christ. We need to uplift each other. If we are to fight, we are to fight with our hands lifted to Him. Like Moses, when his hands were lifted they won, and when they were down they lost. I believe our prayer time is very symbolic at what God will do when His church is calling on His holy name ❤

Amen!! So many people are still trapped in sinful addictions and they need to be delivered (set free) from their bondage, their chains, by the power of God. This is what is on my heart so much, and what I pray for a lot, for so many of these people are also those who proclaim Christ Jesus as Savior and as Lord of their lives.

Something the Lord taught me on this a few years ago: “Although many translations translate verse twelve to say that the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and that violent men take it by force, neither the context of the passage, nor the Greek language bear that out, from what I can tell. While it is true that violent men are advancing against the kingdom of heaven, against our Lord, and in opposition to his gospel of salvation, and in hostility toward his servants and witnesses, I don’t believe that is what is meant here. In context, this is speaking of John as a messenger of God, preparing the way for Christ, and of the prophets who came before him, who were also God’s messengers. These men, in the power of God, advanced the kingdom of God forcefully, i.e. persuasively, powerfully, insistently, and urgently, and with much determination, faithfulness, and purpose of heart and mind. They did this by being obedient to God’s leading, his call on their lives, and by telling the people what God gave them to say.”
Either way, the truth of the matter is that there are people who are coming against the saints of God in violence, in abuse, in slander, in trickery and deception, and in all sorts of manner of evil. They are also coming against the gospel of Jesus Christ in the same way in order to destroy it by diluting it and twisting it to appeal to human flesh. So, we need to be those who are advancing the kingdom of God through prayer, through prayer for one another, through encouraging one another, and in proclamation of the truth, especially in opposition to all the lies.

I signed up with Voice of the Martyrs to remind me to pray faithfully for the Body (I’ll include the link below). Sometimes I type in my prayers, other times I just lift them up here at home. My little prayer group also lifts up the Body when we meet. There are so many prayer needs! I just have to ask God to show me what to pray for each and every day – and throughout the day.

Yes, we all need prayer.
I’m reminded of the golden rule: Do unto others as you want them to do for you. If we want others to pray for us, we should pray for them. We need each other, and we need each other’s prayers.
Good post!
