Community Spotlight | January ’19

A new community spotlight for the new year. 🙂

As always this series is meant to put the spotlight on others, but never make anyone feel like they need to make this list. This is simply a way to share particular posts that really spoke to me the past month.

Your Mercies NewPoem Collaboration With With My Daughter – First, this post is so much more than an adorable poem with a two-year-old. It is very much deeper than that. I love how this post goes from a poem to beanie babies and how a powerful lesson to a child applies to our walk with Christ.

Jesskidding – I Made This For You – I love how Jess makes the connection between what it means to be a creator of something and how we can look at what that meant when God created us.

Living With Lessons – Powerful, and convicting, post on how we can let possessions “own” us in a sense. Distractions. Clutter. Leaving our mind anxious and our heart empty.

In Good Conscience – Another post that pricks the spirit. Are we listening to Christ or being desensitized? To listen to Christ is not only know what He says but actually follow it.

Noes To KnowDid I Really Say That? – Brooke shares a powerful reminder of why it is important we read the Bible.

EfuaLiving For Revenge –  – Efua wonderfully tied Esau’s anger in how when we let our anger grow it becomes sinful and problematic, opening doors for darkness.

Hush! It’s not time yet! – This post beautifully covers how we can have dry bones in our own lives. Efua shares how God opened her eyes to the scripture of Ezekiel and the dry bones putting new meaning into everything.

RuthSafe In Him – Ruth shares a dream that shows how that those in Christ are in His shadow and we need to cling to Him. When we are under His shelter, darkness cannot touch us.

Rejecting Labels – I appreciate the honesty Ruth shares. It’s easy for people to label us based on what they think they know about us. But the truth is it is crucial we focus on what God thinks of us ❤

OliviaThe School Master – I love how Olivia captured this. She focused on how the law trips our soul, heart, and mind. How it feels impossible to pass because we focus on the rules, and not the Savior. It is a flash fiction that immediately captures the sinner within us all who at one time or another felt this impossible and crippling shame.

Love Joy BalanceSpiritual Discipline – What a powerful and convicting reminder that children are not the only ones who are disciplined. But we are by our Heavenly Father. There is so much in this post to take from. If we are making time for God, we cannot grow with Him ❤

he is with us in all seasons

Monthly Scripture – (NLT) 1 Timothy 1:19, “Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their conscience and as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.”
