Sometimes I will not rest until I am completely satisfied.
I went through a number of ideas for this blog. Desperately trying to figure out how to use a cup as a logo. But then I realized a cup is only figurative. In the same way, Christ told us we need to wash ourselves, our soul. My blog is all about drawing closer to Christ, essentially focusing on growth.
…I tend to do a lot of busy looks. I like a lot of stuff together. Cluttered collages are my friend in real life. But a blog look, truly, simple is better.
Recently, I read a post and the blogger, rightfully, discussed blog backgrounds and how simple is best. (I sometimes go for flashy) She discussed how she actually prefers greys as a background, and I loved this suggestion because it works very well with the color scheme I picked out a few months ago. (Thanks for the tip, Hannah! Go check out her post)
And I’ve actually settled on a font, though I wasn’t really trying for that. It just kinda happened. It’s also a font the free WordPress version shares, which I’m excited about.
So…after all the hassle I put my poor readers through and asking for suggestions on the various logos I did, even changing up the “final” logo.
I…ahem…changed it again.
I “think” I am finally okay with this. How many times have I said that?
The background for the blog is royalty free and can be used for commercial use. The logo is the same, made in Canva with illustrations that can be used for free and for commercial use.
There was no debating, aside from cutting my banner down and making it simple. But the process for this has been the easiest it has ever been. I wanted more color and more simplicity when I made my last logo and this tops the cake.
Every time I see my blog now, I smile.
I’m grateful for everyone who has stuck with me through the changes. Really thankful for all of the advice along the way when I asked for suggestions in the past. I tried to keep that in mind, and I hope those who wanted more color like this. For those who liked a border, the shape kinda keeps a “border”. The plants still represent roots because we can’t have growth without roots, and my blog name is within the “growth” focusing on the inside.

Way to go with Illustrator!!! I actually love making designs but I can’t make them by hand, so I think it’s awesome you can! I think your designs fit with the audience you are working towards.

I love the new design, girl! ❤️ (I’m on mobile, so I can’t view your blog like I can on PC, so I’ll have to check that out later 😂) I liked the photo you used for a while as your background (I think it was a picture of water?) because it went with the rest of your blog and didn’t distract from everything else (at least for me). However, I do think that the simpler one can go with their blog design, the better – it really helps readers to focus on the content! 💛

Thank you so much! The background is kind of a grey granite. I liked the water for its symbolism but I just didn’t connect to it. The grey I think you might like more. I love it ❤ If you get a chance to check in the PC love to hear your thoughts! But so glad you like the logo!!!

I agree with your friend. With blogs simple is better. This is also true with colors. I try to keep the colors of the blog itself limited. Otherwise it causes brain overload.
I love you new logo. It’s simple, attractive and carries your purpose for blogging. ♥
