Quotes From YOU | July ’19

I can’t believe it’s August. I remember hoping for warmer weather. August is also my birthday month so as the years go by, I’m surprised more and more at becoming a year older.

There are a lot of powerful quotes from last month’s round of bloggers. I pray at least one speaks to you. Untitled design copy 2

“So as I am going through this process of long and slow goodbyes, I am keeping my eyes on the new life that is waiting. And through this God is teaching me to keep my eyes fixed on Him in all the big or small “deaths” I may face.” Olivia (Olivia In Bolivia)

“I couldn’t just fix what was on the surface and expect to be healed… I can now tell you with confidence that no matter what you’ve gone through, regardless of what you’re facing right now, nothing is too hard for the Lord. ” Maggie (Dreaming Of Guatemala)

“Personally, I fall into the desire to live carefreely. I do good for a while, staying on top of my goals for myself and my household, then without hardly realizing it – I desire for that carefree moment of no demands – physically, mentally or spiritually. ” Love Joy Balance Untitled design copy 2

“Isn’t it funny how our pride and past sin can creep up on us when God is trying to help us grow and mature in our faith?” Sarah (Sarah Mozingo)

“We are pilgrims and sojourners through this land. This is NOT our home. We must keep our eyes on the things eternal, especially when “suddenly” moments come our way.” (Precious One)

“But experience has taught me that the more I have to do, the more time with God I need before I do it. His comforting Holy Spirit both energizes and calms me for the day to come. The more time I spend with him, the more my actions – and reactions to my family throughout the day – are influenced by him.” Meredith (My Way Home Life)

“We are not to hide our light, our testimonies for Jesus Christ, or the teaching of the true and full gospel message of our salvation. We are also not to conceal the light of Christ being lived out through our lives, either.” Sue (Run With It)

“Mere man isn’t capable to fulfilling us; that role belongs to the Lord.  Too many times, young women, yes Christian women, myself included at one time, enter marriage with the belief that this man will make me happy.” Brenda (Becoming His Tapestry)

“People can appear to have it all and be on top of the world, but on the inside they are discontent, hurt, and empty. We live in a world where it’s easy for people to put up a facade, but their reality is less than pleasant.” Dawn (Drawing Closer To Christ)

“TRUSTING GOD means more than everything turning out like you want it to. It means that you trust sovereign God to take care of you no matter how things turn out.” Deborah (Great Is God’s Faithfulness)

“As a Christian blogger who bears her heart openly on WordPress, I’ve learned to realize that if I’m transparent, I need to willingly take the heat from others. I am more of a sensitive soul, so I can get a bit worked up when others find fault in me through my writing.” Vivian (God’s Whispers Of Truth)

  1. I love this!!! I’ve always been a big fan of quotes, and I love that you are pulling these together. I think this is the one that spoke to me most today:

“Mere man isn’t capable to fulfilling us; that role belongs to the Lord. Too many times, young women, yes Christian women, myself included at one time, enter marriage with the belief that this man will make me happy.” – Brenda (Becoming His Tapestry)

    Thank you for sharing! ❤

  2. Thanks so much for including my quote! It was a blessing and a wonderful surprise. 🤗🙏🏿💕

All of these quotes spoke to my heart, but I can especially identify with this one…

“Isn’t it funny how our pride and past sin can creep up on us when God is trying to help us grow and mature in our faith?” Sarah (Sarah Mozingo)

This one especially spoke to me because getting over past sin is a difficult journey.

    1. So glad you were blessed!

Past sin definitely creeps up on us. There is a message by Corrie Ten Boom and she talks about complete surrender. She discusses sins she thought she had given up coming back and what God revealed to her through it. Very powerful 🙂

    2. I must echo Dawn’s sentiments here, T.R. Thank you for the surprise of sharing a comment from what the Lord has placed on my heart during this season of intense crushing. Deborah’s comment spoke to me today, “TRUSTING GOD means more than everything turning out like you want it to. It means that you trust sovereign God to take care of you no matter how things turn out.” I find myself in this position quite frequently when it comes to my future and the way I am expecting” it to unfold.

  3. “TRUSTING GOD means more than everything turning out like you want it to. It means that you trust sovereign God to take care of you no matter how things turn out.” Deborah (Great Is God’s Faithfulness)

This is powerful and easy to lose sight of in America. Salvation is of eternal significance and so often I find this petty desire to reduce God to a dream dispenser, asking for things I want. The tension of having goals and staying focused on God’s glory is difficult for me.

    1. It’s certainly a struggle indeed! I know by surrendering over things of the world that does not draw me closer to Him, like a lot of media, has helped redirect my focus better. And there there is still so much for me to continue to work towards. As scripture says, we must run the race in such a way we win!

If we truly seek Him in all ways, with all our mind, heart, soul, we are promised we will find Him 🙂

  4. It humbles me that you would include my quote. Thank you☺️. Precious One’s quote spoke the most to my heart today. I loved them all❤️

We are pilgrims and sojourners through this land. This is NOT our home. We must keep our eyes on the things eternal, especially when “suddenly” moments come our way.” ~ Precious One, Imago Dei

  5. Thank you so much for sharing this quote. I still find myself having to push down those urges and cycles of past sin I’ve dealt with. By no means, have I arrived but I definitely can tell that I’ve been growing because it’s so much easier to recognize now when it creeps up. Thank you for sharing and as always thank you so much for your work and doing what God has called you to do.

Your faithfulness is a blessing to many, and also everyone else who you quoted. They are all so bold and courageous to share their testimonies and what God has been laying on their heart!

    1. I’m so glad you were blessed by this!!! Corrie Ten Boom once said that sometimes we have whispers of sin come back to us after we have repented. We have to know if we truly have an issue with the sin, cause it happens, or perhaps sometimes we are dealing with spiritual warfare, the fear of sinning after we have truly turned away. It’s in her message titled Surrender, if you’re curious : ) .

I’m so grateful these spotlights are a blessing not only to myself but others, too. I’m so glad we can talk about Christ and encourage others to go to Him!
