I Prayed For Provision & Got It

I promise I do not usually post twice in a day. I just thought this was really special to share with you all.

As I’ve shared this week and last week, my laptop has had some issues. It’s come to the point, I’ll have to extract my files from my hard drive or at least attempt. In doing this, there is a fear, of course, I may not be able to receive the files or photos.

One of the biggest concerns I had was not getting the updated material on the book I’ve been working on. I have all of the chapters on Google docs, but they do not have all of the recent revisions I’ve done. Still grateful,  it’s a lot better than starting from scratch or even being a few chapters behind. Really, it could have been worse.

I’ve been praying daily for provision and working on thanking God more for what He has given me throughout the day. It really has opened my eyes so much, and to all of the things I take for granted.

Well… He didn’t just provide all the chapters I’ve written to my book.

Unbeknownst to me, He provided my most recent update, too.

I had forgotten that a few weeks back, I felt it in my heart that I needed to print out a hard copy of what I had so far. Of course, some of my friends asked me if there was any reason, and I just responded, “I’d like to have it, and look at it physically.” Little did I know, this would come in handy.

God provides in some amazing ways. It isn’t always a big deal, but some of the simplest things He does can mean so much. When my laptop wasn’t working, I prayed throughout and thanked God for helping me be less attached. I’ve had issues with laptops before, and let me tell you, in the past, I’ve shamefully taken it HARD. I went through a mini depression in 2017 when my phone broke down and I lost access to my games and the internet.

Yeah, not my finest moment as a follower of Jesus who gave me everything and His life.

But this time around, I can work with it. God provides, and I knew He would. My ideal would be for my laptop to work, but, you know, this works, too. Every experience and each new day is always a new opportunity to grow in Him.

It was just truly kind of Him to prepare me even for this and lessen some stress.

Thanks, Lord.

(NLT) Acts 14:17, “but He never left them without evidence of Himself and His goodness. For instance, He sends you rain and good crops and gives you food and joyful hearts.”

  1. It is the little things that taught us how to trust God. This showed us how very personal and intimate He is. His kindness in things can nuture overwhelming love for Him, if we let them.

    Good post. Thank you.

  2. Isn’t amazing how God delivers some of His most profound blessings! These are some of the most amazing glimpses of His sovereign will at work in our lives, and they help us to really see all the blessings that He gives. Some would call this luck or good fortune, but we know it’s ALL GOD, so in all our ways we will acknowledge Him….

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts….Isaiah 55:8-9

    I feel a Ephesians 3:20 coming your way….

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us”

    1. Amen!!! As I tell my friends, at some point, you have to stop calling it a coincidence because coincidences are NOT consistent. Praise God for He is active! That’s really what I think faith is. It’s an action, and it’s a response from the Lord.

  3. T.R., you don’t ever have to apologize for writing twice in one day. For one thing, the Lord didn’t tell us that we could only share our prayer requests and prayer answers and blessings with the body of Christ one time a day and not more. We need to hear how others are being blessed of God. We need to hear how God is answering prayers. We need that encouragement, too. And, you know, people get on the internet all hours of the day, so you just never know if God prepared this for someone who was only going to see this at the time you posted it.

And, God is not limited to speaking just once a day. So, if God leads you to share something, then do it. Don’t worry about if it is more than once a day or not. And, this is not a lecture. 🙂 You know I love you. This is to encourage your heart to continue to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and to continue to share with us what is on your heart, and to not be bound by some structure. And, I am glad for you how God is providing for you and for what he is teaching you through it all, too, and for your transparency in sharing it all with us.

And, I am glad, that when prompted, you did what you felt you were supposed to do in printing off your manuscript, even if it didn’t make sense. So many times the Lord has prompted me to do something that, at the time, didn’t seem to make sense, but I did it anyway, and later on I realized why that was important or what purpose it served. We have to not ignore those little nudgings in our spirit. Maybe they won’t all come to fruition, but some of them will, and we won’t always know which ones. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this my sweet friend!

    1. I really love this so much, Sue!!!! Your encouragement is such a blessing and I’m so grateful for you! 🙂

For my blog, I try to keep it one post a day, just so it is easier on my readers. But yeah, definitely felt since the previous post was sharing an update on the laptop, this post just felt like it went with it.

It’s true, I had been wanting to print out my manuscript for a while, but then finally felt a push that I really needed to finally do it. I’m grateful the Lord provided through this! Definitely made less stress for sure!

You’re so right, too. We need to heed God and where He leads us, including on the blog, too! ❤

      1. Thanks, T.R. I appreciate all that you just shared with me here. Yes, we all need to be sensitive to his voice in following him wherever he leads us, including on our blogs, too. 🙂

  4. when I lost something I instantly start praying now for help and provision. Sure enough it turns up only minutes later but before If i relied on my own and just tore up the house ( I: mean literally tore up the house) to look for what was lost I wouldn’t even find it til days later
