Starting A Series On Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

At the beginning of last year, I wrote up a more detailed post on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. With the Christmas season coming up, I thought it would be interesting to go more in-depth with those gifts. I’ve come up with about fourteen different gifts. Some of those posts will have a couple of gifts together. For example, discernment and knowledge I’ll cover in the same post as well as healing, tongues, and interpreting tongues will be in their own separate post.

I have about 8ish weeks to work with so grouping some of the gifts will help me.

I have started writing for Nanowrimo this year. I’m a complete rebel, having six different projects and the blogging I’m doing! Hoping this encourages me to get ahead for November and December so I can be with family without any other commitments. I have written 6 posts in a day so I know it is possible. ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s how I got ahead for last year to be with family, and uphold the blog posts.

The gifts that I will be covering are: if they have been covered they will be hyperlinked.

(Found In 1 Corinthians 12:08-12, 28, Ch. 14 & Romans 12:07-08. Also, Ephesians 4:11-12 covers some positions of a church body)

It’s helpful to note that because the Body of Christ has so many functions it makes sense each one of us is called for different things. That being said, there is no reason we can’t ask for direction in other gifts. It’s also possible God calls us to do something we may not feel is our calling, however, He WILL equip us.

(NIV) 1 Corinthians 12:05-06, โ€œThere are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.โ€

This will be the series’ theme scripture, and I hope the series encourages others to draw close to God and find comfort in Him. He truly supplies all of our needs and He will equip us for whatever He wants us to do.

  1. Yes! Finally it’s here! I’m very happy about this series, for there are many who don’t know what their gifts are nor how to operate in then for God’s work. I know He has given more than one. I see encouragement, faith, giving, helping others, discerning spirits, teaching thus far lol I believe prophesy too as well. May He flow through you throughout this entire series in Jesus name! Amen. Blessings & strength. โค

  2. Thank u for this. Unfortunately we donโ€™t get nearly as excited about the teachings on the fruit of the Spirit as we do the gifts of the Spirit. Truth be told the gifts are not maximize, toxic and diluted if they come thru vessels that posses rotten fruit of the Spirit.

    1. If the gifts take away the focus on God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, absolutely they are not from the Holy Spirit. It is so important we discern this because many false teachings want us to be excited about things that are not Biblical. The gifts certainly are misunderstood and they do have a spotlight on them in which people think they can obtain any and all they want. But this, too, is not Biblical. Only the Lord determines this, not man, no matter what false promises people give us.

Amen, we need the fruit of the Spirit, and honestly, if we do not have the fruit of the Spirit these gifts, as Paul shares with love, mean nothing.
