Quotes From You | January ’20

My Grammarly says the text of everyone’s quotes overall sounds appreciative and that definitely rings true. A lot of these quotes focus on lessons the Lord is showing everyone.

I have been able to visit more this past month, and I’m really excited to share many, many quotes with you all from the community!

These quotes were taken from posts of various Christian bloggers (their blog post link is in their blog name.) All of these quotes are from January 2020 or before.

“At first, I was miffed by this response. My family should have sensed my stress and offered to help! I shouldn’t have had to ask. But God didn’t create mankind to be mind-readers.” Meredith (My Way Home Life)

“The thing is, social media at different times became an idol in my life, and when you start loving something so much that it absorbs you and takes over your normal way of doing things, you never hear the end of it.” Maggie (Dreaming Of Guatemala)

“This last week, it hit me how much I was missing and at times physically craving the comforts of home. Things like soft carpet that allows you to lay comfortably on the floor whoever you want… What I didn’t realize was that I had started to close myself off to what the Holy Spirit wanted to do in me because I was feeling sorry for myself. Unintentionally, I put up a self-defensive wall. Not that doing so unintentionally makes that less of a problem.” Olivia (Olivia in Bolivia)

“God gave me restful, wholesome interests that can be used for his glory and my restoration, such as reading books, walking in the woods, choreographing dances, playing my instruments and singing, and so much more. I felt almost guilty for doing things like that because I felt they weren’t as important as the previous things I mentioned.” Shae (Teen, Meet God)

“To the ONE whom all praise is due, He taught me a lesson through her and said, “You must always sing too! No matter the season of your storm, for the birds I created will always sing a song.” Tammy (God Inspired Art)

“I am thankful God did not give up on me this morning when I took matters into my hands.” Debbie (Great Is God’s Faithfulness)

“For the world to be created, God had to already exist in order to bring forth this action. Had He never existed, He wouldn’t have been capable to create anything, therefore, God did not create Himself.” Diana (La Petie Muse)

“I don’t even know. It’s been a few amazingly wonderful weeks. God is good. It doesn’t matter what is going on around me or even what’s going on with my poor old body. God is Majestic. Awesome. Perfect. Oh, how I love Him!… You see, this isn’t my home. It’s my appointment – my position, if you will, and I will be the best steward I can of the work God gives me to do, writing, parenting, and all of it.” Heather (Running The Race)

“Are we so afraid to stand up for heartfelt beliefs, or even moral absolutes, that we live in a state of over-tolerance?” Meredith (My Way Home Life)

“Have you been frustrated that there are Marys taking in all that Jesus has to say while you’re working hard to serve them?” (Possess His Promises)

“God made his divine character and will known to all human kind so that all humans are without excuse. Thus, none of us can claim ignorance, that we didn’t know the truth (See Romans 1).” Sue (Walking Wounded)

“It can be a challenge to not allow our external circumstances to not eclipse our faith. We feel we don’t measure up and it reflects who we are as a Child of God.” Kim (Beyond My Limitations)

“When we are habitually soaking our minds in Scripture, it will seep into every fiber of our being. It will ooze out of us when the world squeezes us. It will essentially become part of who we are.” Callie (An Unfinished Story)

“In a year with many sad moments, one being me losing my job in January but to me that pales in comparison to real losses that many have experienced this year, I recall memories of God’s faithfulness in my life and in the lives of many others.” SLR (Red Like Crimson)

“I get lost on track when I look at the plans that I make for myself, the dreams that I used to swear that I would reach the stars for, but then are outside of God’s plans.” Jireh (JirehWrites)

“I had GOOD dreams for myself, but they weren’t GOD dreams. We are so quick to admit the truth to others, but we are slow to tell ourselves the truth.” Pastor Matthew (Honest Thoughts From A Pastor)

“We are to walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received from our Lord…to walk is what we practice, our habits, our lifestyles, how we live our lives day in and day out, the choices we make, the things that we do and think and are and say. It is our attitudes, too… In other words, the way in which we walk should be like our calling, it should match it.” Sue (Run With It)

“But in all this, most of all, the home that I want for us is to be at home in heaven with our Lord & Saviour. This world belongs to the enemy, which is why things are the way things are with all the war, hate, confusion and pain.” Lily (Lil Bit Of Everything)

“Why is it that the flawed people around us can be so much easier to put our identity, worth, and trust in? Why is it that even after we see God’s love proved over and over, we just can’t bring ourselves to fully trust Him?” (Faith On The Farm)

“Sometimes it feels like many people want to have an exact system for the whole “process” of “getting saved” and when you “have” the Holy Spirit and the different “levels” of the Holy Spirit, and really……I don’t really think it is all biblical. They are well meaning and are trying to simplify things or systematize things, but it really doesn’t work that way.” (Faith On The Farm)

  1. “When we are habitually soaking our minds in Scripture, it will seep into every fiber of our being. It will ooze out of us when the world squeezes us. It will essentially become part of who we are.” Callie (An Unfinished Story)

    Definitely true, in my experience.

  2. Each quote has its worth but this one I identified with this past year.
“In a year with many sad moments, one being me losing my job in January but to me that pales in comparison to real losses that many have experienced this year, I recall memories of God’s faithfulness in my life and in the lives of many others.” SLR (Red Like Crimson)
For it was in those sad and hard moments that the Father took me from faith to faith and glory to glory. God is good all the time.

  3. T.R. Thanks for adding a quote from my blog. This quote deserves some meditating on: “Why is it that the flawed people around us can be so much easier to put our identity, worth, and trust in? Why is it that even after we see God’s love proved over and over, we just can’t bring ourselves to fully trust Him?” (Faith On The Farm)

Remembering God’s work in our lives is the key. We need to create memorials celebrating God working in our lives. These memorials need to be placed all around us like the Israelites did.

You’re making a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for your commitment to excellence. Karen
