Not in the same way I once did, at least.
I realize that I cannot keep track of everyone I promote. It’s very possible someone might be of a fallen teaching and promote it on their blog. It’s possible someone might fall away. There are a lot of factors that really need to be considered when promoting something or somone, and I haven’t been as serious about it as I should.
I’m realizing lately how hasty I am with decisions. I do not often take the amount of time I really should to think things over, to learn more, before sharing.
This isn’t to stop encouraging community on my blog, but to protect my audience better. Community Prayer Requests are not part of the Community Spotlight series I have. Those will definitely continue.
Even though I do enjoy sharing Christian bloggers, it is very tedious, and it takes away the main focus of my blog.
Post | I Stopped Waiting Until The Last Minute To Read Blog Posts | Apology
I still very much want to engage with the community, but I’m working on doing it in a different way. My blog is not about people. It’s about encouraging women to draw closer in their walk with Jesus Christ and actually understand what that means.
Here is what I might do instead.
I might pick one blogger to spotlight and it may not be every month. I might pick something else to spotlight instead. A sermon, a pastor, a Christian book, etc.
Quanity does NOT always mean quality. I thought I should encourage many bloggers, and I wanted to have a lot of options for readers. But the issue is that it does stretch me thin. It doesn’t allow proper time to invest in research. And it’s just not a series I enjoy as much as I did when I started January of 2018. I don’t want to feel like I “have” to read bloggers’ posts. It’s just not a good feeling.
If people follow the blog just to get spotlighted, well, I’m not really pointing them to Jesus much.
I truly want to focus on the quality of my posts on this blog. There are some of you who have seen the various changes I’ve worked through with this blog. Design, series, my journey with Jesus and what I’ve learned. I so very much appreciate your time investment in this blog, and I hope these changes glorify God, and are encouraging and edifying to you, as well!

It is very important to keep your integrity. Knowing when to stop instead of going through the motions is a signal. May God continue to bless and keep you. May His face shine upon you so that you continue to be a beacon pointing to Him. Keep listening to God and He will continue to direct you in all things. PS: I have just started to follow you and I feel blessed – the anointing when I read your blog. You are a mighty woman of God.

“I don’t want to feel like I “have” to read bloggers’ posts. Yes I have had to made recent changes to certain categories on the blog reverting them more towards Christ. Ah, I would say it really wasn’t that difficult for me to do, it actually was exciting haha! Blessings and more strength to you. ❤

It makes perfect sense my friend, we all need to be wise with our gifts and our time.
Incidentally I have had to learn as I go, recently I have been experimenting with my post appearance, my voice and length.

This is why I don’t respond to blogging awards that often. Tagging all those people is time-consuming!

Totally understand, and I understand why people leave it open for everyone to do if they so wish.

Yup, I understand. Sometimes what seems like a great idea, and may work for a while, does not need to continue forever. It’s a learning process. Plus, as you said, spotlighting others takes a lot of your time! I try to focus my efforts on what I feel the Lord would have me do, that would be most beneficial to others – and to my own spiritual growth!

I always appreciated seeing common theme among bloggers and the posts and quotes of others were about Christ. But it wasn’t my work, and lately I think it is time to move on and do posts that require more time investment, as well as have a shorter publishing schedule. Thanks for understanding 😊

I totally understand T.R. Sometimes you have to change your blog in order to protect your audience from false teaching if need he.
