Shepherd | Meditate On Scripture

This is a series I started a little over 2 years ago, and I realized that the material had scriptures that were confusing and out of context. The way I talked about what we can focus on in some of the posts related a lot to the false teachings of a seeker driven/purpose finding nature (vague, confusing, and not Biblical). I will cover these false teachings in a separate post, but I didn’t realize I was under these teachings when I wrote a number of my posts from 2017-2020, many have since been made private to protect others from being misled. As this is the first post for this series, I thought an explaination might be helpful.

Edited: 08/12/2020- This is an older series I am editing. I have since changed the title and almost all other portions of this post have been changed. The purpose of the series is to meditate on God’s word and to focus on scriptures in proper context.

Meditate- to contemplate or ponder

Scripture To Meditate On(NIV) John 16:13, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.”

How To Meditate On This Scripture– “When I received the salvation of Jesus Christ, I also received the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. The Spirit of Christ lives inside of me. Through Him, I can grow in what it means to walk in the way of the Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin and shows us what righteousness is He will guide and direct me in the word of God (the Bible). I must listen.”

Scripture To Pray(NIV) Psalm 23:01, “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”

How To Pray With This Scripture“Lord, Jesus, thank You for being my shepherd. Help me learn Your ways and truth while I read Your word. Help me trust You and put my faith in You even in trials. I trust You when You say that trials lead to refinement. Help me grow in Your word, amen.”

Community Prayer for August

Monthly Scripture – (NKJ) Psalm 85:09, “Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.”

Luke 11_39-40, _...so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy–full of greed and wickedness. Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside_
