(Edited 08/12/2020) This is an older series I am editing to share with you. The past title has been changed. I edited all portions of this post.
Meditate- To ponder or contemplate
Scripture To Meditate On– (NIV) Colossians 3:16, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
How to meditate on this scripture, “If I want to seek godly wisdom I need to become familiar with scripture, the word of God. Jesus is Wisdom and He shares His truth in scripture. I do not have to seek any special wisdom or knowledge outside of scripture. God has provided all I need in His word. I can encourage, teach, and rebuke others through reading and understanding scripture. Godly men and women can help me as well.”
Scripture To Prayer Over– (NIV) Colossians 2:02-03, “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
How to pray on this scripture, “Lord, Jesus, I thank You for being the wonderful mystery of God. I praise You that scripture helps us unfold this mystery in understanding why the Messiah came to save us from our sins. That You taking the atonement for our sin allows us to be cleansed from all unrighteousness. Lord, I thank you that true wisdom and knowledge is found only in You, and You have provided Your wisdom in the Bible. I praise you and thank You, Lord for the fellowship You give us through other brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.”
Monthly Scripture – (NKJ) Psalm 85:10, “Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.”

I’ve been thinking about the concept of Biblical literacy a lot lately. For so long, I lived off of the revelation and interpretation of others, but lately I’ve been devouring his word. It’s amazing how when you really meditate on his word that you begin to crave it more and more.

One way that I try to increase my contact with scripture is using an audio Bible, I listen to that instead of music or a podcast. Depending on the length of my drive I can hear an entire book of the New Testament in one sitting, which gives the greater context the writer intended.

I have heard a number of people talk about using audio Bible and how it helps them. Especially for those who do better listening I think it’s a great option and what a blessing we live in a world that this is available to us.
You must have some pretty long trips!

For a period of my life I commuted 45 minutes to work so it was a good chunk of time that needed to be assigned to something, or it would just get wasted. That’s a big aspect of relationship, is simply making it a priority. Make time to be in God’s Word and with His people, the church.
