The World, The Flesh, And The Devil (Voddie Baucham)

Belief with no genuine understanding is no belief at all.

Is it really the devil that makes us do everything? Can we be separated from the world…really separated? Are we separated if we simply just cut off worldly things (like instead of a car, we use a buggy?)?

This week’s recommended sermon is from Voddie Baucham | The World, The Flesh, and The Devil

Voddie connects the point that we have lost the understanding of the radical nature of sin and redemption are both flawed and weak. We need to understand both and well.

Ephesians 2 is the focus of Voddie’s sermon. Voddie shares tools we need to know that are within the book of Ephesians. The power that comes from Jesus Christ and the effect of Christ on the Church body. He encourages the Church to understand there are two world views clashing. There are two choices available.

I appreciate how Voddie reminds us that sin makes us focus on what we want, and this desire will affect everything around us.

The sermon is described as, “To become a Christian is to be enlisted in a war, one that is fought on three main fronts. In this session, Rev. Voddie Baucham will remind us how the world, the flesh, and the devil work against the kingdom of God. He will explain why battle, struggle, and hardship should not surprise us as Christians.”

Voddie explains that we are hemmed by sin on every side and it affects us and our thinking.

Luke 11_39-40, _...so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy–full of greed and wickedness. Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside_
