I remember someone I knew asking if it was ok to see a psychic. The desperation and desire to connect with deceased loved ones is real. The desire to feel more in control by knowing the future is something many want. It’s tempting when someone appears to have information, but do we care about the source of the information? What if it is demonic?
Melissa thought she could disprove a psychic, as a Christian. But her experience showed her it wasn’t about disproving. The demonic realm is watching and knows things about us. They will lie and pretend to be someone we want to trust to be true.
Melissa Dougherty came out of the New Age. She understands the confusion of false converts who believe they are following a genuine Christianity, when it’s actually New Age. Her YouTube channel is packed full of awesome content.
She is a critical thinker. She enjoys Christian Apologetics and breaking down the truth in a way that is simple to understand.
Melissa cares very much for those who are under deception. For example, she has a series on understanding the brainwashing of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and proper ways to communicate with them. Melissa cares deeply that those we disagree with we understand. The importance of understanding opposing views helps us understand the perspective of others better, and it helps us ask better questions.

Melissa explains the reasoning for her video as, “This stuff isn’t just happening to the general public or new agers. I claimed to be Christian and went to church often. I never read my Bible and was completely dependent on experience and feelings to guide me. I didn’t think visiting a psychic reading was wrong at all. There are a LOT of people who claim to be Christians who believe this same thing. Is this wrong? Hopefully, through my story, I can relay my thoughts on this.”
