Halloween, Witchcraft, Occult, Psychics | Pick A Side

Between late August and September, interest in Halloween topics and activities start to grow. Just like a menu choice in picking one or two sides with your meal, I wanted to share what has already been covered on the blog, regarding these topics. Many of them are resources from other Christians I would recommend checking out.

Personally, I am divided on the topic of Halloween. So, I might share people who are on both sides of Halloween – for or against. However, it’s important that information regarding Halloween is correct. So, if someone is against Halloween but their reasoning comes from faulty information, I will not be sharing that particular resource. I think we all can agree there are sinful things that can be associated with Halloween and there are things that are not sinful by themselves, though they could be associated with Halloween.

In the coming Fridays, I will be recommending videos that often will cover topics that could be tied into Halloween. With the interest because of the coming season, I want to help people get questions answered and see the importance of the Gospel.

Psychics, Divination, Talking to Spirits:

I would also like to recommend Marcia Montenegro’s website Christian Answers for the New Age and her Facebook page for Christian Answers for the New Age (or CANA, for short.)

Marcia used to be an astrologer, into Eastern religion, and more. But she has had her eyes open to the truth of Jesus Christ and the reality of sin. She does a ton of research to warn people of pagan practices that have gotten into the Church, like Enneagram, and much more. I’m sure over on her site and Facebook page, she’ll be sharing some really helpful and interesting information.

The Gospel Message: With the Good News means there’s bad news. We all are sinners and condemned. We all deserve the just punishment of God’s wrath. Christianity is unlike any other religion because we cannot earn our way into Heaven. God saw the weakness of man and his utter depravity. Yet, He showed us grace. Jesus, God, One Person of the Trinity, became God in the flesh, the God-Man. He was always perfect and sinless. And His humanity was perfected on the cross, living the full sinless life. He became our atonement sacrifice. Dying in our place, taking on the wrath of God upon Himself. He died on the cross, and He was resurrected because death could not hold Him. Jesus is the answer. We, as guilty sinners, need His blood to pay off our debt of sin. For all who put their faith in Him – meaning eyes are opened to the Gospel, we see ourselves as a sinner, we see the need for Christ, we desire our Savior, and we see the ugliness of our sin. Putting our faith in Jesus, we seek HIs forgiveness and repent from our sins, we turn away from our old way of life. We, through the work of the Holy Spirit, continue to become convicted of sin daily. Our eyes will never be the same again. We see things in a different light, and the truth of Christ affects how we live and serve Him. Christ tells us to count the cost. Salvation is a serious topic, it is not to be taken lightly.
