There’s a song I’ve been listening to about how the devil’s in the details. More and more false teaching tries to cloak itself as Christian. In today’s video pick we are again going to look at Bethel. Christialignment is an organization that has roots from the Bethel church.
Christalignment claims to go to events where sinners would be and use their cards that mimic fortune-telling to try to reach them. However, as you’ll see, there is a lack of focus on Christ and the Gospel. Christ is used as this “energy” or “spirit” that tells the people what symbols mean. Even in an interview with Dr. Michael Brown, Jen Hodge shares people have “mistaken” them for psychics multiple times. Well, that’s because they are using occult means and those in the New Age can easily identity occult practices. There’s no mistakes about it.
The truth of the matter is scripture does divide. I caution you to look into the roots of groups, churches, and leaders that you might find safe. The music of Bethel can often be a lure that pulls people into false theology. Which is why I warn against Bethel and other false teachers. I can’t share everything about Bethel in one post, but I do hope to start gathering more resources for you to check out.
Dr. Michael Brown is brought up, as Pastor Chris mentions him in the video. I don’t think Dr. Michael Brown is a false teacher (as of right now), and I’ve seen him do amazing work on explaining the Gospel. However, I do have concerns with Dr. Michael Brown supporting people like Sid Roth or not stating directly that there are issues with Destiny Cards.
This is not the first time I’ve spoken against Bethel. Previously, I have spoken against Bill Johnson, a senior leader at Bethel church. The Gospel Message– The Gospel message is good news, which means there’s bad news. We all are sinners and condemned. We all deserve the just punishment of God’s wrath. Christianity is unlike any other religion because we cannot earn our way into Heaven. God saw the weakness of man and his utter depravity. Yet, He showed us grace. Jesus, God, One Person of the Trinity, became God in the flesh, the God-Man. He was always perfect and sinless. And His humanity was perfected on the cross, living the full sinless life. He became our atonement sacrifice. Dying in our place, taking on the wrath of God upon Himself. He died on the cross, and He was resurrected because death could not hold Him. Jesus is the answer. We, as guilty sinners, need His blood to pay off our debt of sin. For all who put their faith in Him – meaning eyes are opened to the Gospel, we see ourselves as a sinner, we see the need for Christ, we desire our Savior, and we see the ugliness of our sin. Putting our faith in Jesus, we seek HIs forgiveness and repent from our sins, we turn away from our old way of life. We, through the work of the Holy Spirit, continue to become convicted of sin daily. Our eyes will never be the same again. We see things in a different light, and the truth of Christ affects how we live and serve Him. Christ tells us to count the cost. Salvation is a serious topic, it is not to be taken lightly. T.R., thanks for the information and resources. I knew that Bethel was aberrant, pseudo-Christianity, but I wasn’t aware of this Christalignment tarot card faction. This is a blatant syncretization of the occult and (c)hristianity.

Most definitely agree. I will be sharing some more resources. March 17th the recommended video will be Fighting 4 Faith Bethel Grave Soaking. That one did require an actual post before going into the video. I wanted to share multiple resources and explanations as I know people might struggle with Bethel getting called out. And then the week after on the 24th of March I’m sharing Melissa’s book review on the Physics of Heaven. Mike Winger actually did a review on the book a few weeks ago, and Bethel finally pulled the book out of their bookstore, but they did it silently without any recanting. Physics of Heaven claims we can take things from the New Age and make them authentic, Christianizing them basically.
