Discernment: A Spiritual Battle, Not a Logical One — Michelle Lesley

We’re not at war with friends who follow false teachers. Our enemy is THE Enemy.

Throwback Thursday ~ Discernment: A Spiritual Battle, Not a Logical One — Michelle Lesley

I really appreciated how Michelle broke the topic down. She talked about how the maturity level of Christians varies. We might be more mature in some areas, but weaker in others; yet our friends might be mature in our weak areas. I’ve been pondering on this point since. The purpose of the Church, we all have different roles.

Of course, so much is covered in the post, as it is specifically covering discernment, and especially why some people struggle to not see false teachers as they are. Please check it out.

  1. This is true. I must regularly remind myself that big tent evangelicalism’s general lack of discernment is a spiritual issue, not an inability to grasp logic. As an example, the Roman Catholic church is blatantly upfront and open about its works-righteousness soteriology and support of Universalism, and yet evangelicals still eagerly embrace it.
