Sleeping With The Enemy & Cheating On Christ

Revelation in Proverbs?

YUP!

In the Bible, adultery is talked about quite a bit. We see people tempted with sexual desire and turn away. But it is important to understand adultery does not only have to relate to sexual desire.

For true believers of Jesus, they, the Church, are the Bride to Christ, the Groom.

Post | Intimate Meaning In, “I Do Not Know You.”

Our world is full of lies and deception. Temptations to cheat on Jesus occur every single day. The book of Hosea is a great example as well. New Testament or Old, God’s people turn against Him and there are consequences for turning away and rejecting Jesus.

Christ teaches that sexual sin corrupts the inside of our body because it consumes us, unlike food that is consumed and leaves our body, this sin becomes a part of us. (Mark 7:20-23) In the same manner, when we put on other doctrines and heresies against the truth of Jesus we corrupt our spirit, and these sins are NOT easy to get out of because it corrupts the mind and taints our spirit. But we can be forgiven through Jesus Christ.

When people fall into sexual sin, Christ helps us break free from the hold flesh has on us. When we commit adultery against Jesus and His truth, Christ helps break us free from the lies and deception our soul is trapped in. But we must deny the lies. We must deny the people luring us to Hell. We must submit to Jesus and repent! We must walk in His ways daily.

WE CANNOT HAVE PARTIAL TRUTH OF CHRIST AND DECEPTION! WE MUST EMBRACE ALL OF THE BIBLE AND DENY ANYTHING AGAINST IT! If you think it is okay to worship nature, self-power, and have Jesus as your Savior, I’m here to tell you NO! If Jesus is going to save you, He is going to save you from it all, and therefore you must leave it behind!

Today when we look at the warning against adultery please keep this form of adultery in mind and see how false doctrines and teachers can lure us away. When it speaks of the harlot (like the mystery of the Babylon harlot in Revelation 17) think of false doctrines, in addition to the physical temptation.

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 5

We are told to pay attention to our Father like a son would. To listen to our Father’s understanding and wisdom, not our own. It is through this understanding and wisdom we are able to discern and speak knowledge.

An immoral woman speaks sweet luring words, like honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, very slick, sneaky. However, in the end, scripture points out, she is bitter as wormwood and sharp as a two-edged sword. (Remember, the sword of the Spirit is SHARPER than a two-edged sword. Post | Resisting The Devil (Not For The Weak)) Her feet go down to death and her very steps lead to Hell.

Remember false teachings? Look at this scripture.

v.6 “Lest you ponder her path of life- her ways are unstable; you do not know them.”

We are reminded not to depart from the truth and to separate, remove even, our walk from this woman. Not to enter the door of her house (like churches or gatherings of people with these teachings, seductive people) We are told should we enter the door we give our honor away to others and our years to the cruel one!

Years- like a lifelong commitment that leads to death! YIKES!

Scripture speaks of our labor and wealth being scattered to others, those we do not know. We mourn. Our flesh and body are consumed (see scripture below) all because we did not obey the truth and instruction we were given. (verses 10-14)

(NIV) Revelation 17:16, “The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.” Verse 17 shares God puts this into the hearts of the kings (horns) to fulfill His purpose.

We are told to be faithful instead of being led away by temptation.

Verses 21-23 is a great summary of this chapter.

(NLT) Proverbs 5:21-23, “For the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes. An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.”

What To Take Away: I try to keep these posts shorter, I know today’s is longer but it’s important. I already shared the main message. Do not stray from Christ. Hold every teaching you are told in light of scripture, not man. If someone lures you to sin or even suggests sin/temptation, then cut off ties. Be guarded. Witnessing to others is not the same as being pulled in by others.

  1. I’m glad so many false doctrines are coming to light in these days. I pray the light that’s begun pervades this entire world like a blanket of God’s glory. I have a cousin in her 60’s who’s been practicing Reiki over 30 years, very proud that she’s been healing people and praying for people. She’s had 2 husbands, one daughter. Hasn’t seen her daughter in over 3 years, hasn’t been married for at least 15 years.Last I heard she was destitute, living in a storage unit and from the texts I get, she’s not in her right mind. She wanted to be a pastor, but some Jewish person got to the pastor to talk and she wasn’t able to. I can’t convince her I’m so blessed with home, family, etc. because the Lord blesses those who belong to Him and she can have the same blessings if she gives herself to him.

    1. It is true that Jesus is shedding light on the lies as more and more false teachers and false prophets arise. I’m so sorry to hear that about your cousin! That’s really rough. Would you like her to go on the community prayer list?
